  • I just can't believe just how much more intense this song gets in ASL. Thank you so much for making this video!
  • @Kroeish
THE SNAP AT THE END WAS SO COOL I ASPIRE TO FINGERSPELL THAT GOOD
  • @sydneyrose7428
My ASL teacher showed us this in class and I've been obsessed with it since, I watch it allll the time 🙄😂
  • @abbysmith5382
'but his mother went quick' i gasped out loud, that was beautiful
  • As an older deaf man who has watched Louie Fant and Bernard Bragg, I think you are in the top bracket as a singer and performer, Sarah.

I teared up and I don't even understand a lick of ASL. Your interpretation, your movement...very strong, very evocative. Well done Sarah!
  • Years later and this is still my FAVORITE cover of Alexander Hamilton. No matter how many times I hear the song your proper ASL signs and facial expressions come right to the forefront of my memory every single time. Yes I do consider this a cover and anytime someone loves Hamilton enough to have this song play on their playlist ....I share this video even of they don't know ASL because you are that epic at interpretation (both with the lyrics AND with the music). I admit I need to watch your other videos, but I can't help but watch this one on repeat every single time because the way you finger spell Alexander Hamilton at the end ....it just gives me CHILLS. I love this version that much

This is mesmerizing to watch. I also love that I can understand what I'm seeing (I'm trying to relearn ASL) with only a few repetitions. You don't go too fast or too slow- you match the time perfectly :)
  • and alex got better but his mother went quick part looks like a casting of a magic spell... you are awesome
  • @bronlokis
so many impressive levels: the signing, the lyrics, and Alexander Hamilton's life.

I'm learning ASL (intermediate-advanced at the moment) with an eye toward becoming an interpreter. This is one of the best song interpretations I've seen. I can't stop watching it! (And it's not the song itself -- I'm the one person in the world who hasn't seen or heard Hamilton yet.) I love the way you balance those moments where you have to, well, interpret rather than word-for-word, and then turn that into something that flows so gracefully into the next sign. This is some of the most impressive accurate AND lovely/artful signing interpretation I've seen, and I spend an embarrassing amount of time watching ASL interpretation videos. Thank you so much for this!!

This is gorgeous. Watching it without sound gave me chills.
  • Oh Sarah. It's true that you're an inspiration. In my view that comes from your extraordinary use of your abilities. NOT from your disability. Yeah, you have profound hearing loss but you're a stellar athlete, awesome student and mentor to others and you OBVIOUSLY know good music when you hear it. :-) Your performances of ASL for this song and for the Jessie J song are WONDERFUL and I kept thinking how GREAT you would be as a singer without music. Your sign is so wonderful maybe it's time the rest of the world got to know what music is when it's just motion. KUDOS!
  • This is freaking amazing! I'm and ASL student and I LOVE this musical, i was actually recently wondering if there were any videos of people signing the songs and then this popped. I admire how she moved with the music to give the audience the feel of the music. Good job! Thank you for lighting my day up. (:

I love seeing how she sets up Alex to the left and then references him. And seeing how she spells out his name, and then creates the abbreviation that will be his name going forward. Thank you so much for this video.
  • @trinisanerd3322
This is so beautiful... My goal is now to learn this 😃
  • @judyhale2551
I can't stop watching this video. I am currently taking ASL 3 in college and when I am discouraged I watch this video. It's very inspiring and encouraging. I have actually never seen Hamilton, but I've wanted to see it after watching this video. Sarah you are amazing, i love watching your videos.
  • Girl. I was literally jumping up and down watching you. You are BEAUTIFUL. And your sign is MESMERIZING. Keep it UP!! 💟💟💟
