As a Muslim, I want to request everyone on this platform to try to tell others around you that we need to respect human life and reject any ideology that supports the killing of innocent civilians. In this era of fake news, we need to be more careful because it is becoming increasingly dangerous everyday... with rising polarisation around us, we need to reject hate and help people around us... 😢

He's right about people becoming radicalised because of lack of peaceful economic opportunities, and how that's happening in the West, too. There's an old African proverb: ""The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth".
  • @abdullaayda
Social media has done nothing but cause me stress, full of hate, extremely polarised and tonnes of misinformation that nobody questions. This is exactly what i needed to see a well balanced and insightful view. Thank you and keep up the good work.
  • He is so well - read and balanced. Such a pleasure to listen to such people. Gives me so much clarity on the situation. Thanks.
  • @Sssilk84
Nice to hear a level headed intelligent person discussing the topic.

He's absolutely right about social media needong to be held accountable. Meta needs to be slapped with a class action lawsuit for promoting hate.

Mr. Bremmer just opened our eyes to all that has and is going on. Before this I believe most of our eyes were closed to what really was happening and how it had and is presently playing out. Please no more mistakes. THANK YOU.

Honest clarity, competence and rationality make this conversation measured and constructive. Thank you

"the land being provided for them" ... yeah, how did that come about exactly? What happened to all of the people who were originally living on that land?
  • @nancyhamer949
Excellent summary. We need a realistic and careful response, so that many more will not continue to suffer.

I have been seriously avoiding clicking on anything that advertises that it’s going to cause any emotion in me. All week. I was rewarded by being served this interview in my feed. So grateful. Will rewatch and recommend to thoughtful people. Thank you.

Thank you Ian. With so much news going on today, it’s hard to understand what’s really going on

The telephone company analogy to social media irresponsibility is PERFECT.
  • I can't help but feel that this is being manipulated by forces outside of our knowledge or power.
  • Excellent, intelligent, unbiased account of what is happening. So much empathy and fair judgment for all involved. Very helpful and moving to listen to. I wish people of Ian's calibre and moral compass would be in government the world over!! Thank you, Ian.
  • @sergbustam
That was a great history lesson , thank you for it ! !
  • When I hear a man like that talk with such clear insight and empathic intention, my heart hurts for what we Germans (my country of birth) have done to the Jews. Such a diverse, educated, curious culture and people, that meshed so well for so long with the German culture and was a major contribution to its intellectual achievements. When I came to America as an immigrant, I met more Jewish people than ever before, and always felt immediately at home. This enrichment of our German society was destroyed and taken from us by a pathological madman.

Fantastic interview. Bremmer showed his deep knowledge and ability to 'see' the lay of the land of political forces. Well done to the interviewer in drawing out such eloquence.
  • @jbc7572
A lot more than 1.1 million people need to listen to this. Thank you for this interview
  • The first speaker talks about resolving ‘The Palestinian Problem’ - surely the issue to solve is the ‘Israeli Problem’
