Same stars, different spaces

Same Stars, Different Spaces:

Close your eyes and just count to ten
Don't be so scared of the change
Let it save you
Home is where your heart beats
Don't be so scared of mistakes
Let them grow you
Let them grow
Let them grow
Let them grow you

Pack up your bags
There's a world out there
Don't be afraid on your own
Explore all the seas
'Cause home is where your heart beats
Where your heart
Where heart heart
Yes home is where your heart beats

Mmmmm

The stars are the same from way out here
Different spaces but they'll always know you
So take your time falling apart
'Cause the stars are the same from here
Yes the stars are the same from here
The stars are the same from here
Yes the stars are the same from here

This is an original song that I wrote called "Same Stars, Different Spaces". It explores the concept of home, especially for someone who has moved around quite a bit in the last few years. The very act of travelling evokes different feelings in different people. For me it was hard because I was leaving a place that I had called home for 18 years. As difficult as it was, travelling has made me grow tremendously as a human being and has informed me and the art that I produce in ways that I never dreamed possible. The one question that has been on my mind as of late is that of comfort and home; when do we allow ourselves to feel comfortable enough to say that this is my home? Often times when we think about this idea of home we tie it back to roots and family, which is true to a certain extent, but I also think that home is where you are and that is why the line "home is where your heart beats" is so important to me. I feel that the video itself also explores the the adjustment that goes into adapting to a new environment. It's similar to entropy in that you are so overwhelmed with emotions that destabilise you but that make you stronger in the end.
