In Tim Burton's BEETLEJUICE, the only way Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton) can run free in the living world is by marrying Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder). While Delia (Catherine O'Hara), Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis) are trying to stop him, Beetlejuice is throwing nothing but strikes. Watch the classic scene from Beetlejuice (1988).

Directed by Tim Burton

I like how his "qualifications" is half just Micheal Keaton reciting his classical training in his own voice.
  • Fun Fact: Betelgeuse has only 17 minutes of screen time and he is still iconic!

Keaton’s range is just unparalleled. He alternates between being grateful, angry, sarcastic, desperate, demented, friendly, scary and so much more. Major talent
  • The funniest part of the whole scene is when he is asked about his qualifications and just starts talking in his normal voice. I really for some reason was not expecting that.

Beetlejuice is one of the most iconic characters ever created in film
  • @LAVATORR
I love how Beetlejuice is treated like a preexisting character we're already familiar with.

At 3:22 when Beetlejuice goes into his "qualifications" I like how he goes from the "deep" voice to the "normal" voice for Michael Keaton for a minute...
  • @84saints
I feel like Beetlejuice is qualified for the US Congress

4:56 The run he does as he says, "The place is a mess. Don't pay any attention to it. I'LL FIX YOU SOMETHING TO EAT!" Always kills me. Lol
  • It makes me completely overjoyed to see that so many people- millions- remembered how hilarious this entire sequence is, looked it up, and are here now. AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER, EVERY TIME I SEE IT!!!!
  • Michael Keaton, should have had an Oscar Nomination for this. He is iconic
  • @TruthinWWE
I have to agree.. The Exorcist does get funnier the more you rewatch it
  • @vjimenez8
I love how he says his qualifications in regular voice 😂
  • @whiteguy3685
“Don’t you hate it when that happens” no doubt the funniest part of this sequence
  • @leegibson18
This man literally made my childhood along with Jim Carrey. Keaton was beetlejuice and batman. Seriously no wonder he's so beloved and rightfully so. I'm glad he's back he's literally the GOAT
  • @IceSlushi
First thing he does after getting revived is kiss a random women and ask her husband if he has a shot. Legendary.
