  • The Vengeance was the first good ship I ever got and I used it for so long. I’ve moved on to other ships like the Disco Connie and the S31 Command Heavy Battlecruiser now, but the Vengeance will always hold a special place in my heart.
  • @GRIGGINS1
I love the look of the Vengeance. It is worthy of Navy.

Small tip: If you're trying to lower the cooldown of any of the Lobi set abilities, Rep set abilities, etc., try the Tipler Cylinder. It's the one and only thing in the game (AFAIK) that reduces the cooldown of EVERYTHING. If you can click it, the Tipler Cylinder will reduce its cooldown. It's a 25 second reduction (over 5 seconds) and doesn't reduce its own cooldown, but it's also a Universal Console, which means you can reduce the cooldown of the Tipler Cylinder itself via Unconventional Systems, then hit the Cylinder again. If you're judicious with all this you can decrease things like Predator, Prey down to 1 minute flat or even a little less.

I got The Vengeance from the lobi store, and I’m loving it, I do agree that the design needs work, so hopefully we can get some more skins in the future, maybe one that incorporates elements of the excelsior design into that of the vengeance.

It's also good to mention (if it hasn't been already) that you can repeatedly copy a toon with Lobi to tribble if you are on PC to build a massive stack to test out any and all of the things in the Lobi store before you spend on Holodeck to make sure you like it before you commit! Awesome video!

Little correction, the Iktomi is not in a Mudd's bundle. The two other Tholian ships are but not this one.

Personally I've always loved the vengeance design, especially when you look at it from the front. It just looks so damn aggressive and I love it
  • As someone that has been part of this game day 1 and went in early on lifetime membership but isnt aware of the meta these videos help so much. There is so much in this game. So much waste but so many great things. Thank you again.

The Ferengi whip is unique in that it's a "ranged melee" of sorts. Your attack distance with it is around 8m or so. When using autofire this makes it one of the few melee weapons that can safely engage Borg. The Borg also adapt to Electric damage slightly slower than other energy types. It also will not attack unless you have a target locked and in range, which means it won't lock you into melee animations when set to autofire if there's nothing in range. Also, the Emperor's Sword has a mechanic where it will automatically buff your away team whenever you kill an enemy with it. Sadly when holstered it becomes invisible. I really wish I could see it on my Terran character's hip when not in use. My favorite Lobi ground weapon is Jaylah's Staff. It's not anything super special, but I just like it. The sniper shot actually has a small AoE but unless targets are really bunched together you'll almost never hit 2 or more enemies with it, it's tiny. In addition to being Electric, it also does a small amount of additional physical damage, and the staff attack is all physical, so it can fight Borg more effectively than many other ground energy weapons. If you're looking to build around it, don't forget the Lukari rep ground set. In addition to +25% Electrical damage, its long range complements the Wrist Apparatus's shorter range chain fire. And the Advanced Herald Projector is undoubtedly the strongest ground weapon in the Lobi store, but as a matter of personal preference I absolutely hate the way it looks. I know that may seem strange since I love Jaylah's Staff, but something about firing a staff from the hip just rubs me the wrong way. Every character I have owns one, and every character I have leaves it in unequipped unless I'm in an Advanced Ground TFO where I have to min-max because I just hate how it looks so much.

This was a great guide. Thanks for the help!
  • Have to say that of my Lobi store purchases, I've never regretted the Tzenkethi Rhas'bej Battlecruiser. It's hilariously durable, especially as you raise your ship mastery, and the only thing it really asks if you is to move along at 1/4 speed or less. This has never been a big deal for me, as TFOs pretty much involve jumping from one spot to the next and then moving slowly, unless you're playing a fighter-y craft. I can just take bombardments in the thing and, paired with officer abilities, cruiise right through. Turtle is a funny but very effective mastery!
  • Thank you Stu1701 for the detailed video as always. At least with these type of videos i learn more about the game then what i know so far on my own.
  • I have a ton of lobi ships… The NX and Kelvin Dreadnaught are great… The Maquis raider, Husnock, Jem Hadar strike ship (which was temporarily in the lobi store), the Borg Romulan battlecruiser (i forget the name) are good… The Xindi ship (looks like a Return of the Jedi speeder) surprised me the most in a positive way… I’m sure I’m missing some… Edit: Oh the Iktomi was my least favorite..

Stu1701 makes STO so much easier to navigate and thus more fun! By making these videos he has prevented me from making costly mistakes with my hard earned resources! Thanks for supporting the STO community! You’re the best!
  • @FeeriiEekii
I'm planning on getting the Lobi from the big campaign, this is useful info, thnx👍🖖
  • We kind a need a mechanic to cool down set abilities somehow like the intelligence agent atache trait does with captain abilities or uncon does with console actives, propably would bring back sets into the meta! Great content, thx!
  • @ryanhau1073
Here's an idea. How about a Prime Universe version of the Vengeance as a skin. Like to make it fit in canon, there are enough similarities between the Kelvin and Prime Section 31 (Like how they recruit dethrone Despots) to presume that there could be some convergent evolution in technology. Maybe they could do it for the upcoming Section 31 series
  • @rbishop9062
I had completely forgotten about the Altamid set.
  • Commenting for the algorithm and also to say that's definitely informed my spending decisions, so thanks :D Also, for the interested, going into a bit more depth about the Trill Guardian and Jaylah's staffs: Trill guardian, primary fire chains to other enemies from your second attack on a target onwards (and chains to more enemies the more previous times you've shot the same primary target) but has a two-second cooldown and YMMV on whether it hits hard enough that said cooldown feels like an okay tradeoff. Secondary fire is basically like the secondary on a full-auto rifle, spraying in a cone. Jaylah's, as far as I can tell, works like a sniper rifle but with electrical damage, so medium-ish firing shots from primary and a larger hit that takes a bit to line up from secondary (will absolutely drop weaker enemies in one shot or take the shields off a stronger one, so fantastic opener for many fights IMO.) Their melee attacks are both fantastic, they feel to me like they're easier/more forgiving to aim than most tertiary melee attacks, they hit nicely hard, and the animations are very satisfying to watch. A barbie consideration you don't see from its icon is that Jaylah's does look kinda kitbashed from whatever parts were at hand, which IIRC was the case on screen (it's from the third Kelvin timeline movie). My Reman engineer has it as what he insists is just a welding tool/prybar he built himself years ago and has tinkered with and added to over time "It CAN be used to weld! I've just modified it for longer range broader-spectrum welding..."
