Those 27" tires don't even belong on a trail model anymore.

0:23 “That no one had seen before”. Uh, Yamaha YXZ1000R 2017 and updated to sport shift in 2018. Yep, it’s quite possible that Honda took a page out of Yamaha’s book.

Why do you guys keep saying 27s in the front and 28s in the back? It has 28" tires front and back.

Great video! The rocking back and forth while talking was a bit like being on a boat in rough waters though. Would be fine if it was the zoomed out scene but when the frame is tight its a little disorientating. LoL. Also, if they put 30's on the talon out of the gate you would notice how much that weight slows down a 1000cc naturally aspirated motor. Plus its more strain on the drivetrain. Honda plays it smart by keeping the smaller size and keeping reliability, fuel mileage, and the ability to turn down a warranty claim when someone bombs a transmission due to oversized tires.

I had a 21 X, i liked it but the gas pedal was very touchy

Hope 2025 brings the needed updates. Then maybe I’ll buy.

Do you recognize the machine quieter than a cvt unit. My wife get migraines from the harmonics of a cvt unit

I don’t remember the talon being one of the best sxs ever
  • @trogue33k
Make the inside with more room for us taller guys. Leg jammed into the dash😢
  • I'm a honda fan . They make the best small engines ever ... but in the sxs world they are like a R/T dodge mini van ... basic and very under powered they will never have big sales or compete with polaris or can am still they add power . I mean come on a CF moto is faster

Agree the Honda is built well and is solid all around. But 100 hp is way way too little, that was introduced in 2014 and was the 'thing'. Now that is about 100 too few to make sense. Also the DCT is a dated design compared to the CanAm offering, drive both and you'll see the difference. I will say the Honda shifts nice, but wimpy overall.
  • I don't think Honda ever took the side-by-side world "by storm". Honda does so well in so many other genres but in the UTV world, they are just "mehhhh". Oh and for those of us weekend warriors that think a real "transmission" is the ticket Vs a CVT, I don't want to hear the whining when it breaks! I'll take the CVT any day of the week, I have no issue repairing a simple gearbox.......I would go Polaris or Kawi over that car 100%
  • Honda needs to get with it. In Canada the Talon is worth over 30k!!! plus taxes!! There's so many better options for that kind of money, and they're all SIGNIFICANTLY better than what Honda is offering. I can have a 170HP XP Pro for that money, a 200HP X3 for that money... A HEAVILY modified XP 1000 for that. The last one would be my choice, and it's a MUCH better built machine. Honda is out to lunch with their pricing.
