Here's my long-awaited mini review on the award-winning short, The Brave Locomotive, which was created by Andrew Chesworth! This is also my 15th mini review as I wanted to focus on something train-related, and nothing to do with Thomas the Tank Engine! I hope you enjoy!!!

Also, the screenshots I took in this video automatically fall under fair use! So, I hope Andrew doesn't file a copyright claim against me because I thought his short was spectacular--just like his other ones!

Oh, and if there's anything else you think I could've done better or added into the script/video, then let me know too!

Hi Trevor! Thank you so much for the kind review. I try to only film claims on straight reuploads of the short or alarming misuse of the material. I hope I haven't marked someone's fair use review in the past by accident. My apologies to parties affected if so. I actually haven't seen the Thomas shorts you mentioned, but it does seem inevitable that train story themes and situations would overlap. I grew up on the original Ringo Starr and George Carlin Thomas live-action shorts, which I was very fond of. The models and narration were so charming. I didn't know there was a character named Samson in the franchise until long after I had developed my short. It was actually an homage to a Bill Peet book that had a powerful engine named Hercules.
  • I enjoyed this too! Seeing Linus heading to and becoming a slave is deeply tough. Seeing him dead was the saddest part but he got saved in the end.

I enjoyed this film too! I enjoyed the storyline and the character designs. This shows that even cheerful and lighthearted cartoons can have dark and serious moments.

I used to watch a pre-release of The Brave Locomotive back then was I a kid. As soon when I now as an young adult. It’s finally the most masterpiece. Greatest train videos of this. Characters, an 100% story, and Disney-alike styled musical. As much it reaches million of views I hope Andrew is real proud of his popularity like bees and give a lot of appreciation and respect to this lovely animation.
  • If Samson looks intimidating I would love to see a sequel to this that deals with a GM diesel locomotive
  • I have watched this animated story, and everything you say is true. Three cheers for Linus and Henry!
  • Would it be cool if there was a series based on the brave locomotive short? Also the gal that's with the baron is his daughter Katrina. (yes I checked, the wiki mentions it)
  • Impressive review Trevor. I should definitely watch that short. Thanks for reviewing that!

Best Train short film ever :) The Slavery days were really messed up though.
  • I really love the looks of both Linus and Samson. Linus is basically a mix between Casey Jr. and The Little Engine That Could, and Samson is a really big and impressive looking 4-8-4 Northern (Also, FYI, 4-8-4 Northerns weren't actually a thing until the year 1926 when the Northern Pacific Railway (N.P.) ordered Class A #2600). The Brave Locomotive is a very beautifully made short film, and I would love to see both Linus and Samson in a crossover with other famous fictional trains (such as in The Railways of Crotoonia).
  • I may want to watch it! I think it’s gonna get a 10/10 stars for me, and I think it will be SO much better than All Engines BLOW and Peppa Pig.
