You know your fence installer is a baller when he has matching neon gloves and shoes. 😎

Thank you for calling BS truly BS. I love honesty. Great job well done.
  • Love this one! One of your most successful sarcasm/facetiousness efforts yet, ... and you still found something good to say about it! That's sarcasm with class. 🤜🤛
  • Electric post hole diggers can be had for a couple of hundred bucks and they come with two sizes of augers--a 3" and a 6"! They come with long handles to apply the torque necessary to get the job done. Of course, for remote work where electricity is out of reach, gas-powered post hole diggers can be used although their prices are a lot more.
  • Might be good for 'pilot holes' ....bust up some hard dirt or get in between the rocks then hit it with your actual auger. Just a thought.

It may help do plummed pilot holes for 1.5" metal fencing poles partner with a pole driver.

I use a 1 1/4" HAMMER DRILL and CONCRETE BIT to predrill for T-posts in the extremely rocky mountain top soil I own. The T-post goes right in, and gets more solid with every rain.

The classic garden bulb auger. Also how to prematurely wear out your drill and let the magic smoke out after a few holes. Pretty sure the typical hardware stores sell these in their garden sections.

Absolutely the perfect tool to take to the beach to put up umbrellas.

I use mine around the garden and for setting temporary electric fence posts. Ive even used it with the extension to drill out an 8" fence post hole on the side of a hill where my auger wasnt sane or practical to use. Ive also used it with a diy 8' extension to drill a hole under a slab to run pvc under it. But i wouldnt even consider it even if it had been my only tool for like when i had to put up 200 posts around one of my pastures. It, like all tools, have their purpose, and can be used to do some jobs ok they wernt best fitted to, but not the best idea to do.

I have one of those. I bought it at Home Depot in their garden dept. It is to dig holes for plants, but you are right, it digs post holes good too. I'll give you a tip: Dig post holes when the ground is wet & soft. We have wet winters here in California so thats when we dig. This December I need to dig 8 post holes. !

I start the hole and fill it with water the previous day works like a charm.
  • @eh235
That's a good idea for metal post using 2 holes next to each other then a quick dig out with a post whole digger for the diy home project.
  • What about 2-3 inch link-wire fence posts? About 18 inches deep seems awefully shallow for and fence post especially if there are cows or horses to corral. Cheers from Alberta, Canada.
  • @dupree46
Dude you did not expand your hole for the size of the post and you did not clean out your hole like you would with post hole diggers. I have seen other DIYers have success doing the same thing you did!! Appreciate the vid!!

I use to set utility poles. Augers are your friend. You need a bigger one. Yes everyone has their preference. You do good work I think;).

I feel your pain bud, I’ve only ever been able to get the Tip in.
