  • Can I just say, I'm from Nairobi and I'm glad to see this sort of awareness being created in the international outdoor community. Well done Dan 👍
  • @baysword
I work for a water utility here in America. Most people don't know the amount of work that goes in to providing clean, healthy water. We are lucky to have a rich county that can provide for its citizens. It is great that we can provide for those less fortunate through a company like Sawyer. It looks like you were enriched by your travels and meeting new people. Thank you for sharing your experience.
  • @joegarcia1674
This video is probably the most life-changing video I've seen in years. The Sawyer company helping people live better is monumental and shows where their hearts are. Supplying those who are less fortunate is magnificent
  • Thank you for sharing. I was not aware of all that Sawyer was doing and have recently been looking at other filtration options as my last sawyer purchased seemed to be slower than what I was used to with previous ones. Sawyer just solidified me as a customer for life with this video.
  • Just so you know, I just purchased a new Sawyer to replace an older life straw system. What first caught me was the thumbnail. I was like "what the heck, did I buy the right one and should I have gotten the Katadyn?" "Are they misleading in their advertising?" and then I watched the video. Dude, it brought me to tears when you clarified who was getting blessed and especially when Evelyn said "You are like angels in my house this morning. May God Bless you for posting this video informing all of us how lucky we are and letting us know who Sawyer is and what they do. I bought the right one and will continue to support Sawyer.

As an American that grew up overseas and contracted Typhoid Fever from our “clean” water as a 10 year old… (you don’t ever want to contract Typhoid Fever, trust me)… what Sawyer is doing is absolutely lifesaving and I applaud Dan for bringing this situation to light to the backpacking community.
  • @gatoblanco391
I had purchased a Sawyer filter and then saw your video in which you preferred the Katadyn. Of course I was second-guessing my decision. But no longer. I will use my Sawyer proudly, knowing the proceeds are being used for such a worthy cause. Thank you for sharing this information.
  • @headstr8392
I initially came across this video in doing research for filters. It's been the deciding factor in the filter iv chosen. It breaks my heart to see the struggle of not having clean water and what sawyer is doing to change that is nothing short of a miracle
  • @wanderworm
I was aware of Sawyer’s philanthropy and that is one of the reasons why I bought it and will always buy one. I think this is one of the best videos you’ve ever made and I had tears in my eyes watching both for what Sawyer is doing with something as simple as enabling fresh water and also for the profound effect it had on you. Beautiful, beautiful video.
  • Was just sitting here, in my heated, brick house, sipping a coffee, feeling sorry for myself as I'm in the middle of a "rough" period, and I come across this. Thanks, Dan. Nothing like a bit of perspective to sort you out. Will buy a sawyer on principle now.
  • Hey brother, I happened upon this video by "accident". Since I already have Sawyer filters for our emergency supplies, I wanted to see what you were talking about. SO glad I watched this video. I am a retired engineer who now volunteers at a ministry called Design Outreach. We are a bunch of engineers who have set out to make things like water wells sustainable through technology. The pump that you show in this video is an Afridev or India MkII style pump that is extremely flawed and you are correct, they do not last. We have developed a hand pump that draws water from much deeper and lasts for many years longer with no maintenance. But you are also correct in stating that they are expensive, so I love that these filters are filling the gap. Thank you for the video and may the Lord continue to bless you and yours. In His humble service - Jerry
  • Hi Dan, Awesome story ! Praise PAPPA! I am in Kununurra, West Australia with the Aboriginal People. We have an Aboriginal Church. The Kimberly region is Amazing hiking country. Not for the faint of heart. Bless you and bless Sawyer.
  • @Macca85
Faith in humanity restored! There are good people out there. Thankyou for bringing us this video Dan 🙏
  • @robbymoors
I just bought my 2nd filter. Sooo glad to see this story. Thanks for bringing this out and thanks Sawyer for all you do 🙏
  • @timf5534
Love this! Bought my first Sawyer filter a couple weeks ago. Glad to know I'm supporting a good cause. Customer for life right here!!
  • That was incredibly emotional, and impactful. Thanks to you, the individuals, and organizations involved. Good work, to be sure.
  • Very cool Dan. As a pastor and someone who got into backpacking due to your videos I’m not surprised to learn of your faith. Thank you for being a light through this channel. And thank you for the look into something that has obviously impacted you deeply. Once again, you’ve inspired me.
  • I’ve been comparing the different filters I should get as a new backpacker. The sawyer was obviously on my list but this video has confirmed I’ll be a sawyer customer for life. Thank you for sharing this
  • @NJHeart2Heart
Thanks Dan. LOVED this, and it did remind me of a video I watched a while ago, perhaps for Sawyer themselves. What a deeply redemptive cause to save lives both literally and spiritually! Thanks for sharing.
