  • Tip with audio speakers: place them twice the length of the table away from the closest player. This will normalize the apparent volume for everyone seated at the table so it's not too loud for some and too quiet for others.

Thanks for the DungeonMats and DungeonStick shout out Danny! Glad to see all the hand crafted stuff in your kit still as well!
  • @Atmoseeker
Huge thanks for the shout out buddy!💙 Always awesome to see what DM's use for D&D especially for ambience and organization. Lighting is a big deal for my games, even some LED candles can do a lot to set the mood.

For those with Spotify, search up both Andrew Di Cristina and Brian Davis. Searching through their playlists and you will find amazing music that has been organised by mood, setting, ambiance and intensity of battle. Couldn't recommend them enough.
  • Congrats on the diagnosis! Glad to hear you've found techniques and strategies that are working for you. I was diagnosed a few years ago (at 23) and am still finding and trying new strategies. I need to get a filament printer - those filament boxes are nice! (And I suppose having a filament printer would be cool, too...)
  • i play dnd on roll20 + discord since my group is all over the world so since im not in a physical room with all the other players, i can sometimes have issues focusing or remembering what were doing (adhd squad 😔). my solution for this has been slap open a google doc and take decently detailed session summary notes of things as they happen including some of my favorite quotes that were said during the game. i shared them with the other players and we all LOVED how good it was at getting us all back in the headspace for the game and remembering what the hell we were up to last session so now every session we start by reading the week prior's summary (-:

I find that glass beads often come in handy for spells/orbs etc. Dry/Wet Erase markers for marking things needed on the mat. I also found that instant messaging, like discord, allows you to communicate with players for those special moments (like possession or telepathy).
  • Just got diagnosed myself, this is a great hint. We got big IKEA shelves with glass doors in the top half, which is where I'm keeping most of my painted stuff. Transparent containers is the way to go!
  • @sirioth
Awesome video man. I have this problem to, i forget what i have at times. I found that keeping a list or spreadsheet that you can pull put or out and reference what I have printed, painted, or already have on the fly, or when I am out and about. Of course its a pain in the butt to set up but in the end it helps. I have to do this especially with my paints or ill buy multiple of the same color forgetting that i already have one or 2 at home.

Danny just FYI - you're the reason I got an Ender 3. You're the reason I play tabletop RPG games with my kids. I appreciate all that you have done and I now just went all-in on your Kickstarter. There's enough there to never get anything from any creator again. It will take me forever to print everything, but I'm excited for it and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to support you and your work! PS - I got the Lost Dragons too... found out I'm a sucker for dragons myself. Keep up the great work! More vids when you can! They are great!
  • @uoraziel
Awsome video dude. Inspired and just started hunting for trays. See through
  • @therealDonMac
Very helpful and inspiring. Thanks for taking the time to share these awesome tips with us all.
  • @007exarkun
Just ordered some of those battle mats, been looking for something like that for MONTHS! Thanks!
  • Thanks for mentioning the DungeonMats kickstarter, Danny! I had a moment in the video where I was like "I recognize those trees, Lost Adventures!" Then I remembered that was you! Current KS backer of yours and just backed the PlaySchool (:p DungeonMats) one too. Thanks for the recommendation! Your models are mint, BTW :D
  • @cakesmasher487
Thank you for the tips! I'm backing the dungeonmat kickstarter now! I have been using 3d printed magnetic dungeon tiles, but I couldn't figure out how to do caves. Dungeon sticks to the rescue. For storage and transport of miniatures, my wife bought me parts containers from the 99 cent store for $1.99 each which work great for small, medium, and short large creatures. That might be a cheaper alternative for miniature storage. Love the channel keep crafting and posting videos!

This probably won't help for traveling DMs, but mood lighting has been a ton of fun for our table. We have some color changing bulbs as our overhead lights. The creeping dread on my player's faces as the light gets dim and the music turns sinister warms my evil little heart. For our Halloween sessions we play by candlelight too!
  • Awesome video! Can you make a video talking about how to know what to print for your game?
