If you think you might be dyslexic but your not quite sure or if you know someone who is and want to find out more, then this is the video for you.

Dyslexia is defined as a learning difficulty that can cause problems with reading, writing and spelling. This is very true but I think it also comes with special gifts that I will discuss in the next video.

So, do you think you have dyslexia?

Do you often read paragraphs more than once before you understand it?
Do you avoid reading aloud?
Do you something mix up or forget letters when writing?
Do you often misspell common words regally?
Do you read slower than most people?
Do you have trouble telling your left from your right?
Do you struggle to read long words out loud?
Do you find it hard to repeat back what you have heard?
Do you lose your place or miss out lines when reading?
Do you forget the name of common household items?
Do you have a strong preference to colours / shapes / fonts?

Other characteristics that I should have asked as they are very common are:
Do you get confused when given several instructions at once?
Do you often walk into a room and forget why you went in?

  • “If you answer yes to two or more of these questions, there is a high chance you might be dyslexic” Me: I doubt I’ll have two answers as yes. Also me: has 9 answers as yes

The feeling of listening to someone talking with you for a while and forgetting the things they said a split second later. Totally relatable

I found this while looking up the clip where Tubbo said “You just got corrected by a dyslexic person.” to Sapnap.
  • I am dyslexic and I really struggled to explain my symptoms to other people. Thank you for making this and so easily explaining what happens to people like me on a daily basis! Subscribed!

When I was learning to drive, my driving instructor would say "Now we are going to turn left at the end of this road". I would understand and hit the indicator on for right...this happens so many times and still does. Or sometimes if I'm walking with a friend and there is something on the path, I would say, watch out to your right but I really mean left.

i am 28 years old. and recently find out i have dyslexia. I am a teacher now and read about learning difficulties in children. I have all those difficulties about learning how to write and read when I was in first grade. I always wrote letters wrong. I wish we have more educated school counselers back then. i remember my mother was so sad about me not reading and writing correctly. even today i am having a very hard times learning names of persons i just met😂 and dates are like nightmares to me ( birthdays ext.). and sometimes writing in english, it's not my first language but I am happy I learned. :)

Here's a short story of my Dyslexic moment: So my dad asked me to turn on the coffee machine and I asked him where is the button for it. He told that it's the "3rd button on your left". And I took almost a minute just to find this button. It was really frustrating and my dad got mad at me

I answered yes to several of those questions never really diagnosed with dyslexia. When I was in seventh grade in the mid nineties, my teacher told my mom to get me evaluated but they said that I was just immature for my age. Later as I got into high school and ready for college getting Nothing higher than a c at the most. Suffered horribly with reading comprehension and writing. I was at home on summer in college, watching tv and the Cosby show was on. It was the episode when Theo learns that he is dyslexic. It was a light bulb moment. I realize that I could relate to every thing that Theo described was happening with him. So I did research and took what I learned from the show about organization and don’t worry about finishing my degree in college like many students. I took 2-3 courses a semester and color coded everything for each class with a separate notebook or binder. Changed my major four different times and ended up getting my AA in early childhood education at 28, stopped going to school and worked as a preschool teacher for several years, four years later, at 32, I went back to school to complete my bachelors degree in elementary education. Graduated with my degree in elementary education at 37, since I worked part time and went to school, had no social life on the weekends since they were devoted to my homework aside from the two hours I had at work while the students were napping. Now at 41, I am currently a first year teacher teaching reading and writing in a third grade. I teach my students that as long as you do your best and keep trying that you can overcome any obstacle.

my mom just told me that she always belived that i was dyslexic and now I'm looking up things about this and I'm pretty sure she is right. The only thing is that I enjoy reading and I'm confused right now

I've been thinking that I have dyslexia for a while but because of my age my family is like 'nahh'. I just proved my case...
  • I had to restart this test loads of times because I kept forgetting my answers.

"Disorientation" is a really good way to describe the feeling at least. When I was a kid, on top of my dyslexia, I had a difficult time understanding why you can't add more information into words. So instead of putting words in order you just add the descriptive word into it. So it would be "App5le" instead of "Five apples." It took many years to understand that you shouldn't write this way and I was really confused why you couldn't just combine things like this. I also can't recognize people including family members outside of context. It's made life very difficult.

I am crying 😢 I said yes to almost all and I can't learn like everyone. I read everything many times to understand it right.
