This just shows how much passion they had when the series was still young.
-
There is an extended version of this that adds another 3 hours of Giovanni just opening chests and collecting feathers
-
Their plot against Giovanni just ended up creating the most lethal assassin ever, Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
-
I really like how this shows just how close Giovanni came to ending the threat, and why Borgia had to eliminate him.

28:26 When Ezio first wear the Assassins uniform the hidden blade was broken. Now I know how it broke..
-
This was what the assassin creed movie should've been
-
I still love that the actors reprised their roles for live action shorts like this, it’s beautiful
-
5:39 i always thought while playing assassins creed how the assassin costume contrasts from literally everyone else. but now that I'm seeing it as if it was real, it actually blends in pretty well

Giovanni: You need to think ahead. Don't wait for the opponent to move Me: play the entire Ezio trilogy with only counterkills
-
Damn, in the beginning Giovanni was THIS close from killing Rodrigo and preventing AC2 from happening
-
After 12 years since AC2 release, still thinks this is the best trilogy and series continuation we ever get from Ubisoft. Simply amazing!
-
I just love all the actors are the character models! Makes it feel so connected
-
It's already 2020 and this is still a masterpiece even to today's standards. God, I wish they'd make this into an actual series.
-
For those of you unaware, Rodrick Heffley plays Ezio in this.

My three biggest takeaways from this short film, having watched it in full for the first time (I had seen a 3 minute trailer version before and had assumed for the longest time that was all there was), are: Firstly, the love between Giovanni and his wife. The stolen glance from the dining room to Giovanni's office makes her loss all the more heartbreaking, making me actually believe in her waking-coma like state. Second, that Giovanni was so dedicated to his cause, so skilled as an Assassin with this short film adding to the feeling thst Ezio really followed in his father's footsteps, and that he got so close to the truth only to be blindsided by trust. And third, that the true tragedy of Giovanni as a character is that he would have given anything to keep his family from harm and protect his identity as an Assassin. Not only were two of his sons killed alongside him, but he would have grieved to learn that Ezio would follow his path. He would be proud of the man he became, no doubt, but sorry that he ever had to step up to the role. Though he seemed stern with Ezio in the first few chapters of Assassin's Creed II, I think he was always proud of Ezio, however he expressed himself, whatever he chose to do. He would never have wanted him to face the life he did. But if he hadn't, so much of history would be changed, not to mention the fact Ezio reclaimed the lost knowledge of Altaïr, a pet project of Giovanni's it seemed, and interacted with his future descendant, Desmond. As much as Altaïr should be credited for reforming the Assassins in his time, and he should as he still goes under appreciated by much of the fanbase, the Brotherhood and moreso the future of the world would never have been the same without Ezio. And we have Giovanni to thank for that, though he would wish otherwise.

4:53 "He will tell us what he knows." You can feel the sadism and evil in Uberto. Little did he know what Ezio would do to him in Assassin's Creed 2...
-
Borgia: "I'll deal with Giovanni, i've already got something in mind... Then, Nothing will stand on our way anymore." Ezio: ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT?
-
I love how this explains why Giovanni's hidden blade was broken, I've always wondered that.
-
Wish we'd get another Assassin's Creed movie set in Italy during the Renaissance. That period was by far the best in the game franchise between the Pazi conspiracy, the Medicis, Leonardo Da Vinci, and the Borgias, it was all very well done and beautifully made.

I still love how they used the actual mocap actor for Giovanni into this live action movie. It just fills in that immersion
