Based on my travels to Southeast Asia over the years, Malaysia has some of the best staycation spots and it as well developed as many western nations.

Great video, reminds me when I visited with my wife and 2 year young daughter almost 15 years back. Both Genting highlands and Cameron Highland were amazing experiences. We liked Cameron highlands more for the same reasons. Both are must visit places!

Genting (should be pronounced as "Gern"-Ting because it is a Malay word, not to be confused in pronouncing it asย "Jen"-Ting as in "Gen"-eral). It can be translated as precarious, critical moment. Ghana, Gamble, Goat, Gollum, Google and the list goes.
