  • Quick note from an ex Home Depot lumber employee: you can’t always depend on the cuts you get from the store. Each store has a “+/- 1/8”” sign up near the saw because nobody in the lumber department is trained to make precision, furniture grade cuts. You might find someone with some previous knowledge, but then again you might get someone who doesn’t know which side of the line to cut on. Also, If it’s busy in the store the likelihood that you’ll get good quality cuts is much lower since the employee has to get to all the customers in the store including the pros, contractors, etc. All that to say, If you’re planning on getting this stuff cut, it might not be as accurate as you’d like and you should probably go when the store isn’t as busy (like a Tuesday at noon)
  • 3 plans with all the storage options are amazing, great work here guys! Taking a full room and putting everything in the footprint of a twin bed is impressive. 👍
  • @masterofnone
Great work guys. I hope your kids appreciate how great a dads you are Josh and Bob
  • I've been watching ILTMS for years, pretty impressive to see all of the ways you've expanded what you're doing. Besides seeing more Josh (always game for more Josh projects) super wild to see the VR stuff and adaptable plans offerings. Great work.

This was awesome!!!! I’m currently building Star Wars themed bunk beds inspired by ILTMS. Love the options and plans. Love the production shift with Josh talking in the office. One nit pick; ham it up a little! This was really cool and we love seeing you guys when you’re excited.

I'd love to have 1 of these beds with book shelf built in on 1 side, desk on the other and enough space for separate futon on the bottom 😅
  • @MapBot11
Looking good Josh! Your intermittent fasting results are great, keep it up man! Love the look of the project too! Also, I can't believe you still have that much walnut in your garage.

First … LOVE THIS VIDEO. The concept of showing how to do DIY house projects like this is fantastic. Minimal tools. Great use of space. Easy techniques. It all appeals to the weekend warrior / beginner crowd. A couple of questions. 1. How did you convince the person at the home center to dk precision cuts? My local stores say they won’t do that. Is there a special way to ask? Or is it hit and miss? 2. This one is about the bed itself. Are you sure that pocket screws will hold up to the dynamic forces that will occur with a bed? Beds get shaken around climbing in and out, and get movement while sleeping. Is there any concern about long-term durability with pocket holes? I realize that what your build is far superior to ikea, so probably not a big worry.
  • Lovely job there guys. The end result is fab 👏👏👏. But, can we please have a follow-up vid of the poor sod who's got to strip and re-dress the mattress when it's washing day 😉😁😁😁. It'll make you want to fit a hinged drop-front for sure 😂. 😎

Build! Always build! Since I started watching this channel, I started building everything I own now. It is really gratifying, and really fun. It also gets you cheaper things.
  • Super cool bed! Great way to maximize space. Also, that Lego Wall-E at the end was awesome
  • I just noticed that the bed box did not have any ventilation holes? Bottom is a big continuous sheet and the sides are also pretty high, higher than the mattress. In that setup the mattress can not breath. Imagine sleeping on the mattress, with a blanket, the mattress will soak in some moisture from you when sleeping on it. And that moisture should go away during the day (also one reason why covering the bed directly after waking up is not the best routine). Not having a sheet under the mattress, just the strips or at least sufficient holes in the bottom sheet will help air moving through the mattress, letting it breath and de-moisturize during the day. Not ensuring that might result e.g. in mold under or in the mattress.
  • This is fantastic! I've been fantasizing about a indoors workshop bench (assembly, electronics, model-making, but no woodworking/sawdust) using a rack shelving type of thing, with a wooden benchtop, and storage above, with lighting above the work table. I might abandon buying metal racking and adapt a loft bed for a workshop desk. Thanks for the awesome ideas guys!!!
  • @skoomskaa
Maybe I missed something but I saw a table saw, and a mitre saw being used, and then he immediately says all they used other than the store saw was a jig saw and pocket hole jig. 🤷🏾‍♂️
  • Love this! Thanks for the thought and effort put into making this both economically and efficiently!
  • @RaccoonHenry
I spy a D&D starter set @7:41!! I always wanted a bed like this as a kid, and still kind of do!!
  • @reforzar
As someone who built bunks and lofts for many years, kudos! This turned out great!
  • @nodeswitch
Folks, those plans are a steal! I was expecting £50 or so! Great work!
  • @MCsCreations
Fantastic work, guys! It really turned out amazing! 😃 Stay safe there with your families! 🖖😊
