Hi! Today, the restoration of the curved dagger of the Bebut artillerymans. Sample of 1907. This dagger was produced in 1915, at the Zlatoust arms factory. The condition of the dagger is bad. There are no accessories for the handle and scabbard. Also, the length of the blade is missing about ~ 5-8 cm. Well, let's start the restore.

The first step is the disassembly of the dagger. Next, clean the blade from rust with a tool. After inspection of the surface of the blade, I found that it was badly corroded. It was decided to lightly sand the blade with sandpaper.

The stamps on the blade have been preserved and they are readable.
The wood scabbard of Bebut dagger turned out to be shortened, like the blade itself. They were covered with modern leather and modern glue. I completely cleaned the scabbard, sanded it further, primed it, sanded it, and so I came step by step closer to the fact that they became strong.

I made new fittings and pins for the dagger handle. In the same way, I made new fittings for the scabbard out of brass. As usual, I made a test for you. Please don't forget to share this video.

Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

I thought the handle was ruined by the wire but it resulted in an interesting effect when removed and sanded smooth. This one really came together nicely!

I think the true star of this video is the scabbard. You went above and beyond to save it, instead of making a new one. And I always enjoy watching your brass work 😄. 👏Bravo👏. ✨️🗡✨️👍 P.S. I just added an antique U.S. Model 1840 NCO sword to my collection. It's in fair condition, and the blade sings 🎶 when struck. I love it 😊. P.S.S. I ordered my own tiny anvil!
  • Бебут обрёл вторую жизнь, это классика и куча лайков. БИБИП в конце это здорово.

One of your best pieces of work. Always enjoyable to watch you create and restore.
  • Mr. Alex, sir, you did a wonderful job in restoring this blade. I really appreciate the fact you did not speak badly of the person who tried to repair it themselves, whomever they may be. In truth, I thought the scabbard and scales would be very difficult to restore yet they came out beautifully. Perhaps one day you coud do a step by step tutorial on how to make a snug fitting scabbard for a blade? Especially since you do not use anything that is beyond the means of a general hobby person or someone who wishes to be self reliant. Take care, enjoy delicious tea, cook up a good meal, take time out with family, and bibip.
  • Клинок был в довольно неплохом состоянии. А за ножны отдельный респект, проще было сделать новые, но Вы не ищете легких путей))) Замечательный результат! Здоровья и Удачи!
  • Awesome restoration, my friend! Don't stop. I love you channel ❤
