GETTING RID OF EVERYTHING I OWN | EXTREME MINIMALISM

After being very Inspired by Japanese minimalist Sibu, I have decided to declutter almost everything else I own. This is going to be over the course of a couple of weeks, so I can take my time to be mindful about what I will be decluttering. Mindfulness also being a part of my journey to an amplified extreme minimalist home.

I have always been on a journey of extreme minimalism as I often live in tiny homes. That simply do not have the space to give over to any extra stuff or possessions. However, as someone who also values home interior, interior design, minimalist design & minimalist style. I do not want to simply get rid of stuff to own less. I want to do so but keep my home orderly, stylish & aesthetic. I think extreme minimalists like Sibu & Youheum Son have proved to us this is possible. If it is a value that we care about. Many extreme minimalists are simply practical. Not caring too much about the aesthetic of their home or apartment. For myself however, when something is not coordinated or tidy and is simply less stuff, it can still become visual noise and clutter, if not stowed away efficiently. This is my goal over the coming weeks.

To create a super extreme minimalist home that is also aesthetic, stylish, efficient, intentional and sustainable. Moreover, with the use of natural materials. Which I feel creates an organic warm minimalist home despite how few items we may have. 😊

I say keep two blankets, minimum and don’t buy a new one (unless you really want to of course) the tan one that you had for ten years looks so nice and cozy. I’d keep it.

I had no curtains for two years but recently decided to put up plain white sheers. I like it much better that way. My apartment comes with blinds but they are pulled up so you dont notice them at all. You are an inspiration to me to do more. Thank you so much.
  • This is the thing about extreme minimalism... something always inspires you. Like, for example, if I fixed my diet, I wouldn't need protein powder and iron supplements and things like a larger kettle and tea bags and mugs etc and all that waste that comes with it. Plus, the dependency of it all. And tbh, if I fixed my anxieties [or how I handled them] I probably half the medicine I need to use. And besides the protein powder and hot water bottle, my medicines for me and my toddler already all fit in a large makeup bag. At least, this is my current realisation.
  • I think it looks brighter and cleaner without the darker curtains.

Fumio Sasaki’s book Goodbye, Things is very inspiring. I’ve watched his apartment tour and interview on YouTube several times. I enjoy your content!

Wow! 🌟 You did it again. You amaze me. 💖 Even though you keep decluttering more and more, you still manage to make your rooms look cozy. I love that about your channel. Sterile minimalism isn’t for me. 🌈🦋 I love the look of the windows without the extra set of curtains. Hopefully that will work for you the way you want it to.
  • That’s what my son does in his small apartment is use one of the barstools which was already in the apartment as a drink holder while sitting on the couch.

Omg, Sibu inspired me also! Love the decluttering you did! Awesome job!👍🥰💯❤️

I don’t know if you will like getting a large blanket that spans the length of the sofa. Visually, it will take up more space, it’s not as easy to grab and move around, it will take up more wash time as well. Just something to think about. Especially since you enjoy your smaller one. However if you want the larger one for the bed , that may be a nice option. Theres no right or wrong decision, just something to think about.

Felt so much freedom watching that! We want more decluttering!!! Thank you!
  • @monstana
The unnecessary extra long white curtains I had in my bedroom made the room feel visually more cluttered to me than the perfect length yellow curtains I have up right now. I love how different minimalism is defined and practiced and it always can an inspiration to someone else too. New follower here! 🙂

I think it looks so fresh and clean! His video you posted and yours inspired me. I've also had another big declutter. The more I get rid of, the more I know that I don't need much to be happy. I feel alot more content. Thanks, Lydia!!
  • KEEP the soft weighted blanket. I love your discussion about it, and I think it fell into the pro/keep category
  • @Mandy-rl9vc
Sibu didn’t really have a couch. So having a couch that can be transferred into a bed is great too space wise
  • I recently came across your channel and now I'm hooked, absolutely love your content, very interesting and informative ❤
  • @MorgueVOID
I don't know your name but I've known this channel for a while and just wanted to say I love your videos. Most minimalism videos have become repetitive to me but yours still have substance. I love your accent too... keep em coming!
  • @jennyjinx
Lovely video thanks for sharing :)

Love this! Extreme minimalism is so peacedul and aesthetic to me...not sterile. I agree that curtains can make a room feel more full. We had cellular blinds installed in our home, and wow they are so clean and fresh, and can be lifted away and essentially become invisible. I know you dont own your apartment and you plan on travelling, so I wouldnt put my money into that. You're doing the best you can where you are! 😊 Thanks again for your vidoes. 🤍
