We've got another mid-week bonus episode for you! This week, Ellis talks to the owners and founders of a company out of Milwaukee that is fighting to keep old tech alive. Retrospekt started out selling Polaroid cameras and quickly expanded to include all kinds of neat tech. It's definitely a fun conversation with people who are clearly passionate about what they do. Enjoy!

It's wild hearing Ellis talk about this company, and and interviewing these people, then realizing their store is 20 mins from me.

Fascinating how they seem to know intuitively when to pass the story off to the partner.

This focused interview added so much more variety to what the podcast usually focuses on.
  • Its actually incredible the fidelity of lots of 1980s and '90s formats, like film cameras and cassette tapes. I guess the trade off of convience for fidelity won out, but many audiophiles and retro-enthusiasts find happiness even in the old and gold products. And people like these are incredibly crucial to the restoration and preservation of these awesome inventions. Great episode Ellis!

I like their idea that it’s not just a trend of retro technology, but it’s an entire segment of the industry for people who enjoy retro technology.
  • What an excellent couple of people and what an excellent podcast. I know very little about repair or the products talked about but I was consistently interested!

when ellis asked what kind of tech Marques and David think of as retro, I immediately thought of the iPod nano. It's kind of insane how much tech has changed in such a short amount of time. Like the hit clips were 90s and the nano was early 2000s
