  • As a Tennessee grad and obviously on the happier end of Monday's game, I was just so impressed with TAMU's gutsy performance in the CWS. At the time, I chalked Schloss's comments up to the disappointment of the moment but I was really taken aback by his comments in the postgame presser. Turns out, his "selfish" comment was just projection and now makes sense. Best of luck to the Aggies (except against the real UT in Knoxville). I hope you beat Texas like a drum.

We are about to see if A&M cares about baseball with the next coach. We can’t concern ourselves about who leaves now. I understand Texas is considered a top tier sports university. The business side of sports is ruthless. It is what it is.
  • @jloo2135
Texas hasn't even gotten to our conference yet and I already hate those posers. Congrats Ags on a great season. Go Vols
  • As a TN fan watching the way the coach handled himself at that post game press conference was disgusting, do t think this is anyone that players really want to play for. He made that all about himself after his team left it all on the field!! I’m a TN fan and I hope he gets a rude awakening in the SEC! GBO!!
  • @txdunn
The Aggie media - YOU - is partially to blame. How do you sit on a story like this? Ask the hard questions, quit being a homer media outlet and start DOING YOUR JOB
  • OB real asf for pulling up to that press conference and asking him questions
  • @FatMenace
were you this upset when Schloss lied to TCU and said he wasn't interested in the A&M job? Or when Elk said he was staying at Duke?
  • @magnus845
Here is what will happen with this coach who has players that feel betrayed by him, when he is at Texas every coach that he recruits against will use this situation against him. Those boys played their heart out for him and Schlossnagle was negotiating a contract while it was all going on. I really feel for the A&M players and fans on how this was handled.

I think it's hilarious that most of the people in the comments of this discussion are TX fans. They will do anything to take attention away from their actual big brother, lol
  • Coaches and players leave....sometimes we benefit, sometimes we don't. Sucks being on this side of it. Can only hope that schLOSS has a Jimbo type run. I've enjoyed Ag baseball the last few years and I am not a huge baseball fan. Looking forward to seeing who takes the program next. We are in a good spot.
  • Whatever team he would have gone to it was a D Bag move period !!! If A&M wants to stay relevant in baseball they need to do their due diligence and hire a proven winner who will keep the baseball team relevant and winning ! Texas will be in for a rude awakening. SEC baseball teams are for the most part are all good and talented !

I can understand the anger from the fans. But if this is what it takes to rally the troops sufficiently to win the first NCAA championship since 1939 in the top three men’s sports, they should make a statue for him.

HORNS DOWN GEAUX TIGAHS WE GONNA BEAT TEXAS LIKE A DRUM NOMATTER WHO COACHING THEM GEAUX TIGAHS
  • @davidm0508
Not much from you guys about the actions and philosophies of Trev Alberts that directly caused confusion and consternation among ALL coaches there. a&m is far from being "all that" in baseball historically so I would caution you to think that you are some above average destination. I would also point out that a&m has most recently been represented and reflected by those two "a&m fans" who were a total embarrassment in front of a national audience. THAT is the personality who most think of when they think "a&m".
  • It's weird. He's a great coach, but a key component to coaching greatness is honesty, loyalty, integrity, and other qualities of good character. The way he blew up at Richard Zane in the post-game press conference -- which has gotten HUGE coverage in national media -- makes you wonder whether t.u. is getting damaged goods suffering from self-inflicted wounds.
  • Aggy has to face the cold, hard truth that Jimbo is for the foreseeable future getting revenue that could go to retain/hire coaches and staff. Ross left because of this reality and Trev is now the unfortunate recipient of this crap sandwich. Aggy has to realize that the coming years are going to be rough for them and that unfortunately coincides with the Horns arrival.
  • @tx-k4222
Why do coaches leave Texas A&M? This is the burning question.
  • @abby.manawes
Ugh I can only imagine how it feels especially with a personal relationship with the coaches…. So much lying.
