science has yet to explain the link between psychic abilities and awful hairstyles.

i am obsessed with the fact that not a single one of these individuals had the psychic foresight to predict that agreeing to publicly debunk themselves would destroy their credibility

I love the way James calls people a liar in the most polite way possible

I like how they have scientists on standby to immediately call out their bullshit

I watched a documentary on his institute and what actually made me sad was when people came who TRULY believed that they had psychic powers and his people proved they didn't. There was a guy who thought he could sense emotion from pictures and he was devastated when they showed him he couldn't under scientifically controlled conditions. They said that essentially he had naturally good cold reading skills.

It's like 'To Catch A Predator' for psychics.

Imagine if you actually had psychic powers but you were only strong enough to move the page of a book. How sad

What I love about these old shows is how straight they are. No crazy edits and cuts, over the top presenters, like they're trying to appeal to a 4 year old with the attention span of a goldfish. They're not even trying to embarass the guests, just allow them to display their "powers" and apply controls to test them. The only thing I find confusing is that these people know they're frauds, but went on here anyway. Maybe they thought it was good enough to get past any controlled test. Either way, Randi remains undefeated.

You gotta respect Randi for bringing in the real cash to pay up the psychic in case they actually demonstrate their psychic ability under controlled conditions. He knew he never would need to, but still he'd bring it along because science isn't about assumptions, but actual, testable results.

This is why psychics dont win the lottery and healers dont work at hospitals

What if these people really are Psychic but James Randi is a better one and is being an epic troll by stopping their powers?

Couple things.. The guy with the dowsing rod was clearly manipulating it.. he didn't even try to hide the fact he was moving it himself.. And James Randi predicting the guy would find it on try 3 was better than any of the other 'psychics' there lmao

"We said that by chance you would find it on your third or fourth attempt, you found it on the third attempt so your results, sadly, seem to be no better than chance." That was just a completely hilarious and spot on conclusion to that segment :D

That moment when he squats down and kind of laughs, you know he's thinking "jesus chrsit what the hell am I gonna do, I'm stuck now."

James is a personal hero of mine. No group of people disgust me more than people who think they’re psychic, in all its forms.
