I would love to hear your thoughts on these wheels, I think they have come a long way from there original design and also I love the new look of the non butterfly weave, but the price raise does it make them the wheel of choice??? I am excited to see how the wheels perform with the new inner width 23mm. Let me know if you have any questions at all and if you are interested in the wheels feel free to use the discount code for 10 percent off "gcperformance10" at checkout

Velo9 with great hubs cost less than 1000 USD, with promo code around 900. If you want more internal width, go for Velo9 gravel wheelset, 25/26 mm internal width, 45 mm depth, and only 1350 grams. That's without carbon spokes, and good for 15 cm jumps.

Based on all my wheels with 23mm internal width, a 28C Continental GP5000 will balloon out to 30mm measured at the tire. These wheels only have a 28.4mm external width. I'm curious why didn't Winspace opt for 30mm external for better wheel to tire transition.

I get Winspace has been getting more reputable throughout the years but I would say they’re getting too comfortable charging at the prices they’re charging. I feel like if you’re paying that much a lot of consumers will say “I might as well get a big name brand instead at this point.”
  • @benjaminwolf9801
Yeah this was not the move Winspace....CRWs look more appealing for the price.

I have a pair of LUN Hyper R45 Rim brake and have been using them for over seven months now. They have been great, no issues at all. I bought them on a Black Friday special, so I'm especially pleased with the price as well. As for the sparse grease found in the free hub during the video, if I was servicing the hub I would be more generous with the grease, however, the ratchet wheels are the only part of the hub that moves so functionally there would be no issues with the ratcheting of the hub and worst case it would need servicing sooner. Also, the bearings are sealed so no grease is needed on the exposed bearing. I'm so happy with my LUN wheels that I will very likely buy a pair of the Hyper3's for my next bike. Obviously a promotion like Black Friday would sweeten the deal, but the discount code in the video is a pretty good start. I went to the websites of the wheels mentioned in the comments and saw none of them that were 23mm internal width. Seems like if a person is going to buy a new set of wheels, getting the most advanced available is a good move.

All these chinese brands are getting greedy. Winspace have shot themselves in the foot with this price increase.
  • @nochancecw
Everyone had to know once they started sponsoring a world tour level team, they werent going to move up in price. They are reliable, have 80 shops centers is the usa, and are well known. I think the chinese market alone is enough to keep them busy and selling wheels. I have 2 road sets, and 1 gravel set. I know are lighter, but these giys make a trusted product.
  • @gone4aride
The irony with Winspace’s pricing of the new wheels is that in some of their recent social media advertising, they point out and attempt to capitalize on the fact that bicycle industry prices have become so inflated! Maybe the new version 3’s should be renamed HYPO-CRIT”.

I've got a set of the new Elite Wheels Helix 68Ds and they cost $1599. They basically have the same specs interms of spoke thinkness and by the looks of it they have the same bearings and weigh less and for the same money, I can buy Bora WTOs. For $1700, you're only really getting a wider internal rim width and a heavier wheel in comparison. FYI - Im in Asia at the moment and the rachet hub is pretty much everywhere and I have a wheel set that has 3.3mm carbon spokes, exact same bearings and hub (52t), 21mm internal, 50mm deep and a 5 year warrenty and they cost me less than $800. I cant see where the extra $1000 is coming in. I think that with the new products being released out of China, their prices are pushing their products into the range of equipment that is being used in world tour races. IE: Reserve 52/63 w/DT350 hubs cost $1799. I think that China wheels as fantastic as the top tier stuff is, they should stay in the $1000 - $1500 range. That is their niche and their niche is the appealing price. Im not hating on Chinese wheels or frames, I exclusively recommend Chinese frames and wheels to everyone asking about upgrading or wanting to get into the sport. I love Chinese products from the top players in the game.

In terms of pricing, China has been experiencing deflation for a couple of years so in fact, prices should be coming down not going up. I have a feeling that many Chinese companies are going to start pricing themselves out of business.
  • @gone4aride
Farsports offer a much better value proposition for their carbon spoke wheels with in-house hubs. I have a set of Lun Hyper 23 wheels and I like them a lot, but I wouldn’t pay $1,699 for the new version 3’s even with a 10% discount.
  • @DP-PhD
In my opinion, the aesthetics are great. Their quality reputation is well established. The quality and components are a very good match for the 'name brands', as is the 'technology'. The price to me reflects the product, in the market today. Summary NICE wheels, but perhaps CRW still has the edge
  • @Onigure
I'll stick with Elitewheels as my Chinese provider for the moment. 1700 is what I make in 3 months 😅.
  • @onetwo352
Sadly, they have become too expensive to consider.
  • @anthonyreyes1289
That's good they've increased the internal rim width. That was the only issue I had with my old winspace wheelset.
  • @user-ug4qy7ch9f
I have the 45 and the 67 I don't see the need to update. Looks good
