Future CJ having a mental breakdown over the footage of everyone just having fun playing the game is gold

hide and seek logic: you get found instantly in the most obscure and top tier spot you last ages in one spot by barely crouching behind a toad
  • @Fir
    Toad is such a legend
  • @tmbocheeko
Watching Crafty slowly get better and better at Odyssey while playing hide and seek has been so cool
  • CJ: Finds the most clever hiding spots with escape plans Fir: Haha Toad
  • @jimothy7665
Cj: practicing and researching spots to hide Fir: literally just sits next to a toad
  • tips for doing camouflage: 1st, never try to split colour palates, always commit to one colour. when you split 2 different colour camos, one colour will always be more visible in your environment, making you stick out. 2nd, dull colors rein supreme, anything vibrant or bright (like a white helmet) will catch peoples eye. generally, find colour options that don't have much saturation, as those tend to blend in best with surroundings. though i guess with mario odyssey, that might be kind of difficult. finally, the best spots for camouflage are areas with a lot of noise. anywhere with lots of objects, or even just a lot of other colours, will help obscure you. just remember, if something can catch your eye, it will also catch the eye anyone whos looking for you. whelp, there's your camouflage tips, personally id say replace the helmet for something either green or grey. however, knowing how mario odyssey does feature a lot of areas with white colour palates, it might not be a bad idea to instead swap the overalls for something like the skeleton suit, or wedding dress, as either will benefit in the snow or moon kingdoms, however that will also play to your detriment pretty much everywhere else. so generally just pick a single colour, and hope you don't get unlucky with the kingdom.

They should have a new speedrun category that is just called sweat% and the sole submission is just this video
  • This is like if David Attenborough was narrating his hide-and-seek strats
  • i did notice while watching this stream live (from smant's pov) that you did seem a bit saltier than usual, so im glad you realize that having fun with the game rather than sweating for a win is more fun for you

I think the hide and seek rounds very much profit from spontaneity. I've seen the others try to use planned spots as well during the streams and they usually fail and/or are not as funny as wacky panic spots and I often find myself rooting for the person with the dumbest one, like Fir behind the Toad
  • These hide and seek videos are always an instant click. Keep em' coming CJ! We love these!
  • It's super aggravating to put a lot of effort into improving a competitive skill and then have your chances of doing well when it counts ruined by forces outside of your control (e.g. lag and other people exposing your hiding spot). I really relate to your frustration! I hope you get a round of better luck next time, CJ.
  • @Shironi27
I feel like this video just proves that any plans you have will somehow be ruined by Smants and Firs chaotic energy.
  • @localshape
moral of the story: Hide in spots so awful that nobody will think you're stupid enough to go there.
  • @Mars2030YT
who's that lag guy and why does he ruin everything
  • @TinySpiny
This was hilarious. Can’t believe Fir got 47 minutes this round, what an absolute legend
  • @nelly5954
It would be fun to have a round with 7 seekers and 1 hider- wearing the invisibility hat!
  • @IsabruhMoment
Crafty really is just built different when he hides in Metro, huh?
