I’m 64 now and my best friend Sam, who passed 3 years ago from Parkinson’s disease, was a great guitarist….both of us were left handed so we could play each others guitars. I’d sometimes play the lead but it never felt right without Sam playing the lead….I’d always sing the lyrics…Sam always said “the guitar is my voice”….he was my best friend and brother since we were 13….I miss him something fierce but know he’s in heaven. One day him and I will be reunited and I’ll insist he play the lead BUT he’s going to sing it too lol….Ill insist that too!❤ God I love and miss him 💔❤
  • Neil Young does more with three chords in 7 minutes than a vast majority of other musicians do in a lifetime.
  • Most kids get read bed time stories when young. My father never did... Instead he played acoustic guitar and sang us Neil Young songs as we drifted to sleep. I hope to do the same for my future children, god willing.

If this was an hour long song it would still be too short.

This melody has about 5 notes in it. And it's eternal.

One of the most underrated solo’s of all time
  • When everyone I know walked away this album kept me while completely alone in this world. No family no friends. And now 2023 it's keeping me again. Same shit alone at 64
  • I am 67 yrs old, I have been listening to Neil Young's music for well over 50 yrs. Neil Young & Bob Dylan are 2 of my all time favorites. They both write such profound lyrics & both have very unique voices. Rock on Neil & Bob. 👍🏻

The intro is cautious, it's like he's feeling his way, getting the vibe, and then he gets it and it just becomes cook off, it's epic, it's stella, but it's also simplicity, you can hear him strike every note. every feeling, every emotion. The album is superb, you can't date it, you can't question it, simply superb!!
  • Every note that comes out of Neil’s guitar touches fully where other music can’t even reach. I’m so grateful I can experience Neil Young.

I've been a Neil Youg worshiper for 62 years. I love all his music but Cortez The Killer is a masterpiece.
  • This is saving me at a very hard time at my life. Edit:. Thank you all for the outpouring of support. I am continuing to improve every day and I love you all.

Probably my favorite Neil Young song. This song, is like a teleportation device. This song, is like a time machine. Goddamn you Neil, you beautiful, wretched soul.
