The connection to the pied piper story is extremely interesting. If I remember correctly, the original story had one kid that couldn't follow the pied piper because of a broken leg. Interesting that Wooly is implied to have broken his, and he is the rebellious one.

I'm not a parent myself, but the point in the live action segment where the parents turned around and saw their kid was suddenly gone and the door wide open was absolutely terrifying. Legitimately realistic adult nightmare fuel in an otherwise supernatural themed game. Very well done, devs.

31:26 to add detail to the story, the reason the mayor said no was because he didn’t believe that he could of just got rid of the mice via music. Other versions talk about how the mayor believed that the piper summoned the rats cause he was able to “hypnotize” the mice to flee the village.
