Love how the kid is angry at Max for “disrespecting his family” when he was literally making fun of Max’s wife getting killed just seconds earlier

Max Payne 3 is proof that a movie-like videogame is still possible without killing the gameplay
  • @adonis3085
I like how Max stares the kid straight in the eyes while he has a gun pointed at him like “bro you ain’t bout that life” 😂

One of my all time FAVORITE cut-scenes of any game. Rockstar is amazing.

I like this scene. Max Payne's reflexes are canonically fast, almost to a superhuman extent. He could have wasted all three of those pricks as soon as Tony reached for his gun, but he didn't. I like this because: 1. Max was considering just letting Tony blow his brains out to put him out of his misery 2. Max is so horrendously overexposed to conflict, danger and violence that some guy waving a gun in his face isn't enough to elicit a response from him. But pistol-whipping a woman in the face? Yeah, that'll do it

"I ain't gonna take nothing from him that God hasn't already deprived him of!" Such a sad line, but my favourite nonetheless.

I love Passos first line. "Put the gun down, son."

4:56 I'm not a violent person, but shooting that douchebag was one of the most satisfying kills in video game history. It wouldn't have worked without Max Payne 1 and 2 before it. Mark of great writing.
  • I love how Rockstar gave us a taste of the classic Max Payne for a bit in this game.

2:17 I love how he’s so indifferent, dude doesn’t care if he dies or not
  • @ENPY
Goodbye, James McCaffrey! 😢 "A bit closer to heaven..."
  • @jezpaa
I love how Passos buys him a drink and later on offers rounds to some lady while saying Max is buying.

there’s something about the line “fuck you asshole, no dick asshole” and the way it comes from a character who hadn’t said a word in this cutscene up until that point that just kills me every time

Dan Houser's script is extremely well-written that it really feels like I'm watching a movie! I love it!!

“I don’t know why I did it. I guess I never liked seeing girls get hit, but from that moment I was dead in that town”
  • @TheSpook313
1:39 Max's face when the wife is mentioned 4:59 Max's face when he shoots spray tan guido douce
  • "i had been sitting at the bar for three hours , or five years , depending on how you looked at things "

This scene always bugged me. Max single-handedly destroyed the Punchinello Crime family and Vladimir Lem's Russian Mob. You'd think these kids, as connected as they are, would know this and maybe say "We shouldn't get on that guy's wrong side..."
