It's good when you can have you boys around fishing with you no matter if you catch anything or not. I enjoy the vids keep them coming!!
  • Brings back memories of the ponds we used to ride our bikes or walk a mile thru the woods to fish when I was a kid!! Blessings!!

I met you a couple of weeks ago in a crappie house in Ennis Tx. I have to say I've been a fan of yours and the channel for a while now. You're as real as they come and I appreciate you sharing videos like this to show us that even you guys have rough days and can't make the crappie thump that line. Keep posting the real content like you do. God bless you and yours bro.

I know Crappy is y'all thing, but being from Louisiana, those Bass would have made my day - along with the wing meal 🎣 👍

Looked like you all had a lot of fun. Found this video by accident and really enjoyed it. Have not pond fished since fall of '91, after getting home from the Persian Gulf. Last pond I fished in was an old log pond, that has since been put behind locked gates. There were tons of 3-4 inch long bluegill in it, but no bass, crappie or anything else. Did catch a red eared slider there, which surprised me, only the second turtle I ever caught on a hook and line. The first one was in the City Lake in Nashville, Arkansas and it was a snapping turtle. Have done a lot of fishing off the Pacific coast, with my largest fish tipping the scales at 94.5 pounds and measuring 76 inches in length, it took nearly 45 minutes to land it. Was using a Mitchell bait casting reel, 18 pound mono, twin 0/1 eagleclaw bait hooks on a 30 pound mono leader and 20 pound mono line with a herring filet as bait. My largest fresh water fish was a bull Chinook Salmon that was 42 inches long and weighed 36.5 pounds, caught it on a 0/1 Eagleclaw treble hook behind a "Krocodile" muskie lure on 12 pound mono line. Had to horse it out of a set of white water rapids and into some slack water, so we could get control of it. You would you believe, I am still using the same rod and reel that Dad got me for my 15th B'day, in 1966, just in time for the winter steelhead run. Unfortunately, I cannot get out and go fishing like I used to anymore, had a stroke a couple years ago that messed up my ability to walk on uneven ground, like you all traversed getting to the ponds in this video. I can no longer get out and fish like I used to, have difficulty traversing rough terrain following a stroke a couple years ago. So I get my "outdoors fix" by mostly watching you healthy youngsters going out fishing or hunting. Keep the outdoors videos coming, please. Nothing like them hidden ponds. Im a bass stalker my self and here in central florida me and the homies got the hot spots. Good video keep em coming 🎣
  • @ricklane1693
Hey guys. Don't try to set the hook with braded line, just take out the slack. With 0 stretch, you can easily pull the bait /hook out of their mouths. 6 pound line is more than plenty for what you are doing :)
