This sheriff accidentally turned his yard into an oasis for snakes and crickets. When I was driving to see if I could help anyone out, I noticed that there was this corner house that looked like it hadn't been mowed in a few weeks. I knocked on the door, introduced myself, and offered to help the sheriff with a free lawn makeover. He was super thankful, and told me that he hasn't had the time to mow his yard in awhile. He told me right away that the backyard was really bad! We took care of that for him. We also got rid of the snakes and hopefully the crickets will go away as well, since both love to hang out in tall grass.

I dont condone telling people things that aren't true. However, I had suggested for 3 years that if my neighbor would keep the grass trimmed around his house, he could reduce the mice population in his house and therefore keep snakes away. He's deathly afraid of snakes. One day, as I was cutting my yard, I decided to tell him I had seen a huge snake crawl out of the tall grass where he parked his car, and it had crawled into the grass growing up around the edge of his house. The next day, he hired someone to use his weedeater and cut the tall grass all around the edge of his house and around his trees! He has kept the edge of his house and around his trees scalped since then😂😂😂 If all else fails..........

Imagine the relief in that Sheriff's face, when he comes home and sees this fantastic job, done for him. Many don't realize how many hours they work. Just because they are supposed to work 12 hour shifts, it never is. They have reports to do, extra calls coming in before the end of their shift, that they must respond to or an accident that occurs when they are just about to finish their shifts or get called to attend court hearings on their days off, many courses to attend to stay updated on new laws or to maintain their training, etc. Some are even rude as saying well it's their jobs ... regardless if it's their job or not, they still have their personal family life to handle and take care of, so cutting grass is probably on the bottom of their to-do list. Thanks for this awesome job Fill. The ones protecting us need care too.

Love the new opening graphics. Very cool. And don't worry, those are just Garter snakes. They're cute.

I appreciate you helping this officer/deputy! They do so much for us day in and day out.
  • Fill you did an amazing job at this Sheriff’s house. I know you tried not to kill the snakes sometimes it’s unavoidable. But thank you for saving a few. The yard looks so much better now that it’s been cut. The snakes and mice will disappear with the grass shorter. You made a difference in this person’s life just by doing this.

The tree looks so much better. Didn't even know the hosta was there.
  • @christinec9441
Glad you were able to help the gentleman. The snakes need to be in the field and smart thinking clearing out a couple of rows in the field.
  • @sooome9294
For a moment I thought you cut the field as well until I saw it was just the dye to avoid more snakes to enter the backyard. Great job and thoughtful of you.
