  • If you're wondering about the ingredient labeled ''strength'', that's corn starch, a literal mistranslation of the German word ''Stärke''"

I'm sorry but there is no chance a kfc employee showed you this because no kfc employee has the breading recipe. KFC breading is sent in premixed to protect the recipe.

I worked at KFC and this has nothing to do with how we prepared the chicken. Staff also had to sign documents stating that they will never in their lifetime disclose any ingredients used, Colonel's secret recipe. Also, yes it was pressure cooked and the marinade and batter mix came pre-packaged with limited ingredients listed so that they could not be leaked to the public.
  • use buttermilk instead. This is a southern recipe. In a cast iron skillet they take about 35 min for nice sized legs.

In the South, we've been soaking our chicken in buttermilk before we cook it since Christ was a small child. Tenderizes it to perfection.

I worked at kfc and the chicken is pressure cooked, the batter was prepared before it came to the store, years ago noone at store knew how it was prepared

I use buttermilk,5 cloves of garlic salt and pepper with a whole cut up chicken 🐓 let sit in a ziplock bag overnight, then put in flour and fry with crisco lard, the best crispy chicken ever

7 minutes for chicken to cook…..No, I’m cooking chicken longer than that, I don’t want to get sick from under cooked chicken.

There are 11 Herbs and Spices in Kentucky Fried Chicken folks.
  • @cbrown9294
This certainly isn’t a KFC thing. I ran a KFC about 35 years ago and the batter is made with 5Lbs flour, 5Lbs salt, 1Lb pepper, a branded bag of powdered milk that had no listed weight and water. The 13 herbs and spices is just salt basically.

To all the people who live in your van or car & are watching this knowing it doesn't apply to you because you don't have access to a kitchen, I salute you!
