271. Hollow 3D RESIN Casts FROM HAIRSPRAY?!!! WHAT?!

In todays Resin Art video, I show you how you can make hollow resin casts with just a coat or two of hairspray!!

This is INSANE! This resin art technique has so much potential! Imagine the possibilities!

We can make easy and fast resin shaker jewelry using our existing resin molds and pieces! You could also decorate the insides however you want to create insane 3D custom jewelry!

We also test this with epoxy resin to see if that works! You can see, I need to make some tweaks for this to work better!

i do not yet know if this resin art hack will work with all types of hairspray, if you try, let us know which work and which do not work so we can all learn together.

Guys, this is crazy! You need to think outside the box for this one! Let me know in the comments, how would you utilize this? What would you use this for? So much more to come! 🤩
  • I wonder if you realize how much you've changed the world of resin. Almost everyone copies everyone else and nothing really new ever comes to light. However, with you and your channel, you've given resin creators a whole new world. I appreciate you and your channel. Thank you!!!!!

That's the hairspray my dad would use to stick the half dozen strands across his dome 😂❤ miss you dad ❤
  • @cwv-artistry
So much easier then making silicone inlays and cheaper because you don't need to buy inlays or silicone to make them! I'll say this again, you my friend are a resin genius! Your growth says it all! Love what you do always! And thank you for sharing both epoxy and UV ! I'm an epoxy girl so this was fantastic for me!

So....I would do the heart shape and add a small picture inside, like a loved one or a pet, then back it with the clear plastic and colored resin. Or print out a favorite poem to put inside. Wedding vows. A lock of baby's hair. Ashes. All kinds of options. Alternatively, I'd color the inside shape with mica or chameleon powders, then back it with a contrasting color. Lovely keepsakes or pendants.

I really appreciate you showing us what not to do along with what to do. Brilliant.

Hi Daniel, I have just started with resin craft and you as well as several other you tubers have provided not only inspiration, but encouragement for someone who can no longer do her decades old craft of beadwork following a stroke. You and the others, including Toonpish Crafts, Claire's Crafty Corner, Pouring you Heart out...just to name a few...lol, have successfully lit a fire within this old lady for the first time in years
  • @jennij5773
It would be cute to do the 2 hearts as pendants or keychains for loved ones since one heart fits in the other. And thank you for showing the results for the epoxy. Very helpful 🙂

Are you sure you're not related to Michaelangelo and/or Leonardo DaVinci???!!! Your mind is astonishing! Thanks once again for so generously sharing it witb we lowly mortals. 😮❤
  • @Ali-H3444
When you put the epoxy in the eyes and nose it covered the hairspray. Thats why it bonded. I love this idea with the uv resin! That opens up a whole new world for different ideas. Well done Daniel ❤you are a genius 😊
  • @kimdulaney7599
Glad u saved everyone the trouble of trying epoxy Again, great job
  • I think this would be great for making Memorial pieces. The hollow heart you made, then add ashes, a lock of hair, etc. in the middle before sealing it closed… could be a really nice keepsake.
  • I've said it many times nut here is a reminder... Mr. Cooper, please only use your powers for good, not evil! 😜 You are brilliant! Now, I must go, Aquanet and I have a date....
  • @joyceeberner
I just love you showing the trial & Error side of creating! I already have ideas. I’ve been thinking for some time now about a hollow mold where front & back.. for putting tiny mementos like a baby’s 1st tooth or lock of hair, etc. Also, you may want to try glycerin ; I’ve made things like a snow globe. I’d use that with some glitter or tiny decorative flakes. Looking forward to what’s next!!
  • I haven't started playing with resin yet. I'm so happy to have found your channel before I begin this journey! Thank you for such clear videos!
  • @journeyhome98
Daniel, I think this is your best experiment yet. I have an online Catholic gift store, as well as traveling to parishes and conferences, and I have a beautiful collection of antique/vintage medals. I have put the medals straight into my jewelry pieces, but they are more costly. So, I cast some of them in a silicone mold and they were just an ok. The medals have a lot of detail and the didn’t necessarily translate well with the silicone mold. I had thought about reaching out to Wendy @ Toonpish Crafts and see if she had any ideas as to how to make inlays since the relief on the medal is inverted from her wax stamps. BUT…. This…. This is a game changer for me. I’m super excited about this. Thank you! Personally, I like it when you show the whole process as opposed to skipping parts. I appreciate you showing the mistakes as well.

Mr Cooper, you are Amazing. You are going places, well done. 😍🥰
  • @user-pn5xy1ku8i
You can also use glow in the dark powder in the middle part. I think that would look awesome.
  • This is excellent!!!Daniel you are awesome, I can’t even imagine what goes through your mind when you think up a new experiment.Mrs Cooper keep an eye on your creams, hair products and anything in your house, when Daniel is on the search for a new project!😆❤️🥇
  • I’m manically searching my house for hairspray as I rewatch… I know I HAVE to have an old can from my “fancy days”… oh my CHEEZUS I love a good resin experiment!!!! Thank you SO much for doing the research for us. You’ve saved me SO much $$, time, and frustration over the years!!!!❤❤❤
