Video games tend to not do super well when adapted to the big screen, but gosh dangit, Hollywood’s determined to keep trying. The latest attempt is Uncharted, based on the popular game series called Uncharted. With a surprisingly good performance at the box office, maybe they’ll keep on doing this kind of thing?

The Uncharted movie definitely raises some questions though. Like why were Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg chosen to star as characters they seem nothing like? How has nobody explored the very accessible ancient access points in Barcelona, one of which is literally in a Papa John’s pizza shop? How did Sully and Nathan get into the trunk of that car on the cargo plane? How did Moncado miraculously not lose a single drop of blood? Why can’t iconic characters wear their iconic outfits in movies anymore?

To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Uncharted! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Imagine having a literal script, filming locations, character developments and dynamics contained within four games and ignoring all of it.
  • "Just cause you murdered someone doesn't mean you control their assets." "Yes it does" Don't say that to the guy who thinks stabbing is tight.

"I'll tell you what Mark Wahlberg's gonna bring to the role. Mark Wahlberg's gonna bring Mark Wahlberg to the role." I'm dead😂

“Characters can’t have their iconic things anymore. They have to pick them up along the way or show them in a post credit scene” every time 😆

They forgot to mention how wooden ships that have ben rotting and unmaintained for 500 years miraculously don't fall to pieces when lifted into the air.

I love what Pitch Meetings has become; not only is it great fun to watch but literally acts as a handy synopsis for movies I might have been vaguely interested in but not enough to sell 2 hours to.

"Double crossing for some double crosses" is better writing than the entire 2hours of Uncharted combined.

NEVER underestimate a hype train. Words to live by guys.

"... to the extent that Tom Holland looks grown up" "Spider-Man!" And "wordplay!" clapping his hands like a little kid. I lost it!! This guy just gets better; I'm glad Pitch Meeting is getting its own channel.

This man has saved me hundreds of dollars worth of movie tickets and DVDs.

I really love how this movie decided to just ignore the amazing established story of Nathan Drake and Sully that everyone knew and loved. Great writing decision.

The entire Pitch Meeting was masterful as always, but I freaking lost it when Ryan delightedly said "Spider-Mannnn" 🤣🤣🤣

"Just because you murder someone doesn't mean you control all their assets" "Yes it does" I was so sure Writer Guy was going to try and off Producer Guy at the end of the Pitch after that exchange!

My gripe with the treasure hunting genre is that in most stories, it's a series of steps to get to the treasure. While the first step is usually the one thing that nobody could access until the protagonist shows up, the following steps apparently trivialize the first one. The major one in this movie is not the keyholes and vents between the Papa John's or the night club. It's the fact that the ships were stored in virtually plain sight, by the very people who couldn't trust each other that they needed the two crosses as a test of cooperation. The whole clues journey with the crosses is trivialized when you realize that the crew knew exactly where the loot was and could reach it with no cooperation with the rest of the crew or Magellan. Just go to the unprotected cove and grab it.

So spot on. Straight up murdering the “creative team” behind the movie.
  • Gotta say: I have no doubt these vids are literally exactly what happens when Hollywood discusses what movies to make. Add in coke snorting and they truly be masterpieces of art imitating life of a Hollywood producer and company.

"To the extent that Tom Holland looks like an adult" "Spider-maaan!" I died of laughter in that bit!
  • @Konitama
I was in tears at the Papa John's bit. It just kept getting better. Literally cry laughing
