Hamas, Islamic Jihad submit ceasefire response to mediators

Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad have expressed “readiness to positively” reach a deal to end the war in Gaza in a joint statement. They added that they submitted their response to the proposed Gaza ceasefire deal to Qatari and Egyptian mediators.

James Elder, a spokesperson for UNICEF, joins Al Jazeera's live for the latest updates from Deir al Balah in Gaza, while Imran Khan reports from the Jordanian capital, Amman, for Al Jazeera.

    Blinken is blaming Hamas for rejecting a deal they accepted, whilst congratulating Israel for agreeing to a deal they rejected.
