Loving my native5 magnacut with Weathered Red AWT scales

The Native platform is definitely my favorite of all the "mainstream" Spydercos.

They are great models. Have many. Do love the Native Chief though👍🏻

I have the exact same versions as in the video, Maxamet LW with a bronze MXG clip and the knife center cruwear/smooth g10 but with bronze fluted titanium scales from RGT and a purple lynch clip. I love them both, thought I would buy the AWT aluminium scales right away for the LW but I’ve actually really enjoyed the FRN, might still grab the scales for it at some point but I’m in no rush IMO the native is their best looking model by far and one of the best all round as well. Also my lightweight is very similar to the g10 but honestly might be a little bit smoother than the g10 one with bronze washers 😂 cause the way it’s done they are essentially running on integral nylon washers so it doesn’t really suffer from it despite technically not having washers

Yes on the Native 5 in Maxamet and Rex 45! Get two of each (in a perfect world). And a couple of Stretch 2 LWs in K390. I only say that because I love the high hrc steels and these two models just work the best for my hands. Spydie hole, lockback, size, and hole-handle geometry during deployment. And Spyderco in general for reliably high quality heat treatments and the use of lots of specialty steels in lots of models. The more knives I get, the more I return to Spyderco. Of course with exceptions like the QC Drift Large, Sandrin Monza Titanium, and the like.

Love the native, the handling, and the one curve trough the tip to the edge of the handle without spydie hole going out of the line. This was my first Spyderco, because i found the others quite ugly. And i'm going on the older side of my life, so the back lock doesn't matter to me. It makes me enter in the realm of good handling that the Spyderco knives offers. Now i have other mainstream Spyderco, and they all have interesting things to offer. But still, always going back to the native. I more on the lightweight native side, because it's melts in the hand more than the G10 version. Above the two, i prefer the fluted carbon fiber with s90v, more rounded shape, but quite expensive.

I love the Native 5. I have 4. I also have the carbon fiber native 4 and and a BRK 1st gen native. I wish they would do a prestige model with a compression lock. I wouldn’t want them to make the native a compression lock knife but just offer a special one like they did for the sage. Those smooth g10 handles look amazing.

I've been looking at the Native 5 just haven't pulled the trigger yet? 🙃

I thought no native 5’s have steel liners anymore, not jsut the TKC exclusive

Just got the knifecenter G-10 and its the most solid high quality knife I own. Not great for EDC compared to FRN though. Definitely never going to sell it.

I have never really been jelled with the native 5 lightweight. the action just isnt that premium feeling. I did pick up the knifecenter exclusive Native 5 with DLC Cru Wear and its totally different. that thing feels premium as heck. I put RGT titanium scales on it and now its probably my favorite knife. didnt need the RGT to be my favorite because the smooth G10 is excellent, but it definitely doesnt hurt.
