We, humans, are the Dwemer, but when we teleported to our realm (Earth), we lost our memories, only one Dwemer (Todd Howard) started having flashbacks, but of course he knew nobody would believe him, so he made a series of video games and lore solely from his memories.

The Dwemer were having a huge rave and DJ Kagrenac dropped the bass so hard, it rocked the whole party into another dimension.

From Oblivion to Elder Scrolls Online the more I learned about the dwarves or dwemer the more I'm convinced their latter name is a play on the word "dweomer". After reading the below definition years ago or one just like it I was convinced that in the world of Elder Scrolls their names would Translate to "Sound Elves" or "Echo Elves" especially when one considers their use of tonal Magic. Dweomer, is the Old English word meaning 'witchcraft' that derives from the Old Norse term dvergmál literally meaning 'dwarf talk' (dvergr dwarf + mál talk), referring to the secret knowledge of magic among the Norse dwarves[citation needed]. See for instance the entry, dweomercræft. A related Middle English word that derives from the phrase 'dwarf talk', dwergma, means 'echo', crediting the dwarves who live in the stones with the sound[citation needed].

Big strong hard metal "All right I guess we could worship this."

Dwemer are a physical manifestation of Clarke's third law: any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

33:15 Dwemer automatons do not run on soulgems, they use it as tonal resonators. You can look it up in skyrim "research notes" and also we how it is done in arniels endeavor. The soulgems inside of the Dwemer automatons are used as resonators to produce tonal architecture, the automatons on vvardenfell would instead use the biggest resonator which is the heart of Lorkhan.
  • I thought for a moment that drew had really long arms but then I realised it was the logo xD

I'd love to hear more about Sloads. They're such an interesting and different race than the others in Tamriel. I think you'd all be able to give an entertaining and informative take on a lot of Sload lore.

Has anyone ever considered that maybe Kagrenac actually knew what he was doing and accomplished what he intended? They were at war with everyone and instead of losing they decided to go somewhere else? Maybe he found a way to move his race to another continent or another planet all together?
  • @Yamaazaka
The Dwemer were so logical they couldn't stand to be in Bethesda's old game engine!xD So they out until the new Elder Scrolls
  • @Stuffman1861
This is the first time I've actually seen their faces. A surprise to he sure, but a welcome one.
  • This is an amazing sight. Love the fudgemuppet crew! You boys have blown my mind on countless aspects of the elder scrolls. Found you guys a year ago and fell in love. Appreciate y’all videos so so much!

Dwemer metal is fascinating stuff! It holds an edge better than steel, is as tough as bronze and has the corrosion resistance of pure gold. The closest thing to that in our world is titanium, except titanium doesn't glow nearly as beautifully by firelight.
  • To add the Dwemer "Ghosts" thing, I'm not sure how accurate this is, but just as they used the Snow Elves, I think they even used their own fallen brethens souls to carry out functions such as guarding and basic upkeep, it would be like them to squeeze out every ounce of usefulness out of everything, even their own dead. And as for soul gems and convertor, as advanced as they were, they likely found away to use soul gems for power sources without having to use actual souls.

The Dwemer ruins are what made me want to dive deep into Elder Scrolls lore. Once that door was opened... it made the game WAY more interesting and fun. Great job on this discussion guys. Always enjoy your content.
