Brazilians love their all-you-can-eat/rodizio food.
From pizza, to churrasco bbq, to sushi...
On this episode, we went to Liberdade, the Japanese town in São Paulo to try the highly recommended buffet sushi at Tanka Restaurant. Trust me, the Japanese food in Brazil is different then elsewhere. Check our reaction trying Japanese - Brazilian food.

It's not that the japanese community are treated just like the other brazilian people, they ARE brazilian. There's no distinction between the japanese people born in Brazil and any other immigrant communities we have in Brazil. The italian, lebanese, chinese, german, spanish, portuguese, the ones that came from everywhere around Africa, and any other community that made Brazil their homes in the last centuries are now part of our country and culture. Just to clarify your inquiry at the beginning of the video. :D

guys, there was a sign there saying that you have to ask for your temaki lol thats why the plate were always empty!! great video :)

i visited the same place in july! 3 weeks in brazil and never ate the same food once! there is too much to try!

São Paulo's arguably best ramen restaurant was just a block away from where you were. And it's crazy cheap, it's run by a couple of elder japanese-brazilians, they have their own recipe, glorious stuff. Charming traditional looking place as well. Aska is the name.

"Brazilians invented interminent fasting" That made me laugh, because not eating before going to a rodizio (and then eating enough for a whole day) is a fairly common habit here. We might have been indeed doing it for a long time without realizing it. It's always worth the wait though, and it's more food for every penny spent that way, so why wouldn't we? 😄 If by chance it makes us healthier, that's a happy side effect.
  • You guys are so nice people. It’s easy to see you’re well educated. I love the way you show the local cuisine and the places around. Keep up with the quality content! Welcome back to my city!!! 🇧🇷🙏🏽❤
  • The samon in Brasil is imported from salmon farms in Chile. The temaki in good restaurants is made at the moment you ask for, so the nori seaweed is always crunchy. There's a very good cake and salgados rodízio at Sodiê (they have cake shops in several states). In São Paulo we have pasta rodízios too.
  • @danisdrew
You need to ask for the temaki. And also you don’t eat the fruit sushi’s with soy sauce 🤣 lots to learn. But I agree with you the sushi in Japan is amazing, Brazilian sushi have lots of diverse and the infusion with Brazilian culinary makes it unique so both are the best in a different way.

it's funny that if they don't talk, brazilians will never think they are a foreign couple, here everyone is mixed

  • São Paulo is an amazing city very cultural full of flavors, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Lebanese, Italian, that's what I love in SP.
  • Acho muito legal como vocês comem com vontade mesmo 😁. Muitos chegam no rodízio e ficam tímidos e acabam não comendo tudo o que poderiam. Parabéns por serem tão humildes. ☺☺
  • @nickaoke
Leave some food for us brazilians too, bro! Rumor has it São Paulo has been running out of salgados and cold beer since you guys landed there. 😘🤙

I've been following you for a while, I think it was suggested on your first day in Brazil on this trip, but I'm loving your vibe, you both have a lot of charisma, if possible come visit Santa Catarina, great beaches. keep up the good work, cheers!
