Remastered with footage from the Blu-ray — watch at 1080p!

As frame-for-frame as I could do — there were two shots in the trailer that I couldn't find exact matches to in the film, and one shot that had slightly more tail frames in the trailer. The bit with Number Five watching TV has a new screen composite to restore the animated film he was watching (in the final film, a toothpaste ad seems to have been optically added in place of it).

Love this movie. You can see the ET influence most definitely.

Thank you, I like it. Outstanding work! Makes me feel nostalgic. I'm gonna go and cry in a corner now.

How is it that I was born in 1985, and have seen the sequel a million times growing up, but have never seen this?
  • Bet I’m about to smoke a blunt and watch a old school classic that’s new to me. let’s go ❤️‍🔥

Nice work! Especially the lip sync! I have a 35mm print of the trailer. It has a slightly different edit than this version. I may transfer it to digital and upload it. For its age, the colors on it seem to look very good.
  • Like the Frankenstein monster, the Number 5 robot is struck by a bolt of lightning and comes to life.

Use to love watching this as a kid 🫡
  • Probably embarrassing, but I remember being about 3 or 4 and loved this movie so much. I’d walk around with my arm folded back and my elbow out, pretending I had a laser like Johnny 5

I could watch this from a VHS shop in the early 90s (after the Berlin wall broke down). Rented it another time to tape-copy it :)

The ending very surprising. Don’t think the army would be that careless.
