The Charlotte Harbor Region is located on the west coast of Florida about a 90 minute drive south of Tampa and 30 minutes north of Fort Myers. In this video we start out with Port Charlotte & Punta Gorda and show how the area has rebuilt since Hurricane Charley in 2004. We also travel through North Port. On the coast we show 4 beaches on Manasota Key, starting with Manasota Key Beach, then Blind Pass Beach, then Chadwick Park at Englewood Beach, and Stumps Pass State Park. We travel through the Lemon Bay area show Don Pedro Island as we head down to Boca Grande and Gasparilla Island. We then make our way back to Port Charlotte, showing, Charlotte Sports Park, Port Charlotte Beach Park, and Bayshore Live Oak Park.

Living in a house where the backyard is waterfront to a canal or even the coast, is a privilege that expands by a lot the possibilities and life quality❣️🤯

I learned about this area before Charlie, worked with FEMA here during and after Charlie. It wasn't until I met my best friend who moved here after retirement that I really explored the area. I'm here every chance I get! 8 times a year just for the weekend on average. There is simply no place better! Thanks for posting this video. And to those who are thinking about visiting, don't just think...do! I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

We are from Germany and have our vacation home in Port Charlotte!!
  • I lived there from 1968 to 1983. It was my Home. Charlie blew my Moms House down . It was so sad because she and her husband put some much care and love in to it and all of a sudden it was gone. I now live in Las Vegas and it is no picnic. Not so much humidity, but 120 degrees plus heat sometimes, Monsoon System is the worst. I was a Land Surveyor there, so I know. Trade off that's all. Florida's bugs, snakes, flying cockroaches', no see ems, love bugs and sand spurs , humidity are not missed. Lemon Bay was my favorite.
  • gee, myself drove by outside on I-75 hundred times & never know there are so beautiful beaches & places inside... next time, I must stop by & enjoy our beautiful places of Florida..... de Miami.....
  • North Port is a great place to bring your family! Easy Access to the beach and the great food make North Port truly one-of-a-kind!
