A girl almost drowned on the Salt River in May, but thanks to Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Lake Patrol, she was saved. However, as seen in the exclusive bodycam video, the path to get to her, as well as getting out of the river, was blocked by tubers and kayakers.

Hey y’all, my name is Carley and i’m the girl in the video. This was 3 years ago. I’m now 21 so looking back on this is absolutely insane. Thank you all so much for the positive comments . and to everyone calling the cops “pigs” need to get a life. Those “pigs” saved my life. The reason why my brother couldn’t get on the boat was 1.) because he was very intoxicated and could’ve got in the way of the deputies doing their job and 2.) that boat is very tiny. Imagine how my brother would’ve reacted if they allowed him on that boat and saw them perform cpr on me not once, but twice. He would’ve freaked out and most likely would’ve got in the way. So please shush. If it weren’t for the deputies quick response time and fast acting i wouldn’t be here today.

The guy in the wetsuit jumped into action and held the boat for them was the MVP. Good for him. Obviously will go far in life with an attitude like that.

Wow, that Deputy brought her back twice. Well done, sir. I am glad to hear the poor girl survived.

I also give all the credit to the first responders but the young man in the black wetsuit did something that was heroic with it being something so small that he might not even realize, but jumping into the water and holding that boat without being asked shows this young man had great awareness and help greatly with this situation

That dude can drive like a boss, great job by the river rescue.
  • @VictoryAviation
Hats off to the water rescue team. That’s a difficult environment to work in.
  • @Monkeyz73
7:47 the guy said the phone number very quickly without warning and the officer remembered it like 10 seconds later with no issue. thats crazy

Get him off my boat statement was correct. I have never seen anyone be the best captain ever. Great job guys 👍😃

Respect to the men who saved this women’s life! Shame on the person flipping them off! I’ve been down this river many times. People get stupid & reckless out there. I’m SSOO thankful for the sheriffs department being there ready to take action.
  • @Hey_its_Koda
The officers not letting the guy on the boat was right thing to do. He was out of it and put the rescue team in danger and their focus and attention on the girl.

My heart was hurting so badly for her brother. That’s one helluva brother to have right there. I hope she recovered well & is thriving.

What great team. So glad there are dedicated individuals who know what to do. They saved her life!

I've floated down that river many a times. That airboat hardly makes wake. Plus it's pretty hard to get around in those tubes. So you put yourself in the current and just float. Those men do an amazing job rescuing people.

Well done guys, I worked for 10 years on this very river for the Medical Rescue Posse, brings back memories, a very challenging environment, all day long this can go on , from one medical incident to another, until the sun goes down. Again well done

Thank goodness for our professional first responders. I know it’s their job but they’re like angels.
  • @Shilo2020
Watching this gave me anxiety and I was on the verge of tears knowing someone needed rescuing and seeing the challenge of getting around all those floaters. It seemed to take forever to reach her. Outstanding job by those water rescue men! From the comments, it sounds like the young girl recovered. Good news! 🙏

These guys are absolute professionals. They comfort her the entire time and they never NEVER let up. As an advanced deep water rescuer, I am so happy to know these guys are out there. I used to pull people out of rushing rivers, and then turn them over to guys like these who did everything to stabilize the person, who was in shock. I never saw how they got the people who I pulled out of the river to the Hospital. It is their dedication that truly saves lives.
  • Young men and women need to learn the basics of CPR in high school. I know this seems an out-of-pocket response, but the hopelessness of the look on the young mans face wiping tears from his eyes fearing he lost a friend was gut wrenching. Thank the rapid and professional response of Maricopa County Sheriffs for saving this young girl’s life. Thank all our first responders for taking up the responsibility of keeping us safe and saving lives.
  • I'm so glad Carly recovered from this. And I can understand the brother's panic and concern for his sister. Very few of us are prepared for a fun outing with friends and family to turn into a situation in which you are watching a family member fight for their life. So, I don't fault the brother here and, instead, Give props to the officers for keeping him off the boat and letting him panic from the shore. In the end, it could've been that action that, indeed, saved his sister's life.

Wow. What a job. I used to float a river similar to this one every year and brings back memories of rolling 20 deep in kayaks. All these guys did a stellar job at their positions and knew what their job was in a multiple person rescue team. Dude is giving her CPR on the boat while they are flying down the river through rafts/kayaks. That takes a lot of trust in the driver which fan boats drive like you're on a patch of ice sliding it's way through the river. Textbook work and most likely saved that girls life. Then the guy who was just giving CPR on/off for 5 minutes just shrugs at the driver after she's lifted from the boat. Like, no big deal.
