  • I was at the Cleveland Clinic on 11/10/23, waiting while my wife's cancer was being diagnosed in an examination room. The Andy Griffith Show was on the TV in the patients' waiting room, and I cannot even begin to describe the wonderful, calming, reassuring effect it had on all the anxious people present.
  • I am 65 years old. Grew up with this show. Just told my wife the other day… I can see this being replayed long after we leave this earth. It’s that’s good. Wholesome comedy. Hard to find in todays times. TY Mayberry cast and crew!!

Barney completed the sheriff, Don Knotts was hilarious, I loved his character.
  • This show is like comfort food. When I want to be transported to a truly kinder, gentler and simpler time in the world, I go to Mayberry😊

If I could reincarnate into anyone in my next lifetime, I'd like to be Andy Griffith. I have such love and respect for this man. He, along with Mister Fred Rogers were like surrogate fathers for me as a young boy growing up without one in our home. And if I couldn't be Andy, my next choice would be to come back as Ron Howard. Thanks for posting these interviews. Much love and respect. 💕

For 39 minutes and 47 seconds tonight, I managed to shut out every bit of the chaos going on in the world right now and get completely lost in every second of this video. I grew up watching TAGS reruns in the early 70s. And, while I know it's impossible to go back in time, there are just some days that I really need that clock to be rolled back. It's difficult to really put into words. It was just a simpler time back then.

Don Knotts' Barney Fife character elevated the show to classic status. When he left, no natural comedy element remained. Kudos to Andy Griffith for realizing early on that the hick sheriff bit wasn't going to fly, especially since he was playing the essentially serious role of a widower raising a five-year-old.

Andy was wise, and made a genius call with Don Knotts. He's right; the show would have lasted 2 weeks without Don. "The Andy Griffith Show" is still just as good today as it was back in the day. I especially like the guest musicians who made appearances on the show.

Jim Neighbors (Gomer Pile) was from Sylacauga, AL. My mom attended Sylacauga, High School and was just a couple years behind Jim in school. Many of the old timers here still remember him. I knew a teacher who went to school with him. Small town guy who made it big.

My son was recently diagnosed with cancer. When I get really stressed, I watch episodes of Andy Griffith. It takes me back to my childhood and is so calming.
  • I am 77 and grew up with this shoe, identified with Ronnie Howard and loved Aunt Bee and Don did change everything. A kind, funny piece of Americana which seems lost today.

I love it when I'm in Mayberry. I love walking down Main St,, barber shop, the fish pond. I hate it when I realize I'm not in Mayberry... I'm in a psychiatric hospital

We still watch this show every evening. Great cast but Don made the show what it was.

10:56 I thought that was the funniest episode when I was a kid! "Looks like you got too much grease in your steering column!" hahaha!

I have been a fan of The Andy Griffiths Show since the first episode. I still watch it.
  • I watch all the reruns, wonderful show. They don't make them like that anymore. THAT'S WHEN TELEVISION WAS GREAT!!

I love hearing stories from the older generation, back in the day.
