I don't understand what makes the difference what you do with the clubs. Price them for what you want, and they either sell or don't. Buyer has right to do whatever they want with their stuff, just as seller can price as they want.

I would have bailed on that old guys sale, his prices were to high for old technology. Most people who are perusing garage sales are looking for stuff they can resell, so I don't know why he got on your case. Shipping golf clubs is a hassle and the old guys going to find that out if he does list them on eBay. Enjoyed the video.
