Carnivore Diet (book) by Dr. Shawn Baker

Hello everyone!

Starting the carnivore diet can be SO INTIMIDATING! I remember! It doesn't seem like something a person could actually do. In this video I list off the many things that helped me in my journey. I'm really hoping this helps you in your first 2 weeks (or 2 months) as you transition into the carnivore lifestyle so you can experience the health benefits you're looking for.

I hope this helps.

ABOUT Homesteading with PJ!

Hi! I’m PJ, and my family loves the homesteading life! It’s something my wife and I have always wanted to do, but we grew up with ZERO HOMESTEADING EXPERIENCE!!!!! We grew up in beautiful southern California, 15 minutes away from the beach. As amazing as that was, we both dreamed of a life closer to land and animals. After getting married and moving to Utah, our family slowly grew. We had become a family of four living in a townhome with a small backyard filled with potted plants.

In 2019 we dipped our feet into homesteading on 1 ¼ acre lot in Utah. In 18 months we were ready to do this for real. So in 2021 we packed everything up and moved to North Carolina to 12 acres and we love every inch of our homestead!

We raise sheep and have big plans for:
• grass-fed lamb
• meat chickens
• laying chickens
• heritage breed pork
• honey
• vegetable garden
• perennial food forest
• and more

I hope you join us on our journey, subscribe and ring the bell if you haven’t yet.

  • Hello everyone! I misspoke, pork is red meat! Eat what works for you. Cheers!
  • @1337farm
I 100% agree with eat before you go out because there’s nothing out there to eat
  • @joepikers
I recommend everyone to find the book titled Unlocking Carnivore Potential ; it goes deep into all of this, and it changed my life
  • @marcycane1793
Heavy on the “just quietly go carnivore.” Currently on day 2!
  • All Great advice! I’d like to add one more piece. I felt like I was force feeding myself beef in the beginning and couldn’t get over the fact that I had come to hate the taste of beef. I used to love beef! I realized that it wasn’t the taste of beef I hated, it was where I was getting the beef. I talked to the manager of the meat department at Kroger and found out that they were buying their beef prepackaged from China. I started buying all my meat from the local butcher shop, and that changed everything. The taste and texture were amazing and every meal became a treat. I then found a regenerative farm in the heart of the poshest neighborhood in Cincinnati. I think you’ll find that the prices are cheaper than your grocery chain store, and the quality of the beef, chicken, and pork. Is a million times better! It’s probably in my head, but when I eat the meat from the regenerative farm, I feel better inside. Good luck to u all on your carnivore journey ❤

Carnicore for 22 days so far. Went out with my husband and kids to a tearoom. They had hot chocolate and scones, I had coffee and ate the little butter and the clotted cream😂. I was really proud and astonished at the fact that I felt zero craving for their "treats". They looked beautiful but the idea of biting into them was weirdly off-putting. I am a real sugar addict so this is a very welcome new feeling. I'm eating untill I'm pleasantly full and then i can go for hours forgetting about food. The weight is coming off ever so slowly, but it is coming off. Never felt better. Night anxiety, gone. I can think more clearly. Love this

Awkward social situations can often be handled with "That cake (or whatever) looks great but I am doing a challenge (or winning a bet)". In this social media world the idea of doing challenges is a lot more accepted than it used to be haha

Best carnivore advice I’ve seen after viewing hundreds of videos.

After being Carnivore for 4 months , I have to say this is All Great Advice to Follow. He is Speaking the Truth Here
  • I’ve been a carnivor for over 2 years now, and this is excellent information. Try carnivore for 30 days. See how you feel and take note of the little things that bothered you and how they have disappeared. I was a fit, 62 year old male, but had blood pressure readings that were a little high,so I decided to try the diet. I will never go back. I wish you well on your own journey. 🇨🇦💝👍
  • This video should be the GOLD STANDARD instruction for not just starting the carnivore diet, but also maintaining it and tweaking it to your own unique needs. This video was truly fantastic. Any person that I know or meet who genuinely wants to try out carnivore in the future; this will be the “start-up” video that I will send them right off the bat. I recently subscribed to your channel and have been so grateful that I did ever since. Keep up with the AWESOME content and God bless! 🙏🏻💪🏻

Amazing to see how this has grown. I’ve been carnivore for 7 years and when I started it was pretty much just a fringe movement. Shawn Baker was only posting videos of himself rowing and hadn’t started his company. One tip you kind of touched on that is extremely helpful, especially to people starting out, is having precooked foods ready at all times. If you’re hungry the thought of having to wait a half hour while you cook something can be enough for people to reach for something else. I always had a plate of chicken in the fridge to heat up at a moments notice. Anyway, good luck. After a certain length of time the other stuff doesn’t even look like food anymore.
  • I started Keto 2 years ago but it became a crutch as I tried to make substitutes for carb dishes and sweets. Went carnivore 6 months ago; what a world of difference. Your tips are excellent! I binge watch carnivore videos for knowledge and motivation.
  • @oldtymer9106
This was a great video! I did keto for about two years and felt great; reversed my type II diabetes, lowered my blood pressure, got off all my RXs, lost 100lbs.... Then I had a major life change and fell off for about six months. Fifty pounds came back, bloodbpressure atarted to rise, still no T2D - yet. Just came back to keto two weeks ago and I am slowly transitioning it to Ketovore...I've already dropped 8lbs and can feel my lo-carb superpowers slowly returning! I'm saving your video to refresh my memory from time to time. Thanks for sharing!
  • The background nature you are in is absolutely breathtaking!!!!💗💗💗
  • I’m my first week in on Carnivore diet and am sooooo glad I found your channel…I totally relaxed after watching this video
  • @maritaberndt6200
I agree regarding carb cravings....I'm just starting to get over thinking of fruit, chocolate and bread all the time. I'm starting to feel more content. I'm feeling much! calmer. I've stopped dairy because I was definitely getting hooked on double cream and cheese...😢 as a result, my skin is tightening and getting somehow clearer. I've just dropped tea, as well. Am planning to stay off tea for a few months. And yes, am taking magnesium, which has helped a lot! Good talk, thank you.
  • @curiousrooster
Incredibly good and accurate wrap up you have provided here. As a 220 day plus carnivore, you have summarised so much valuable advice in a short , to the point video. Well done 👏
  • @lyn9cook
Wow! Thanks for that. I have been carnivore for a few years - it wasn't hard, just a slide in from keto, but I love resources to give to people who are starting out, and this is the best!
  • This is the first time I've watched any video related to food or nutrition and been impressed with the advice. Even just buying meats you like is genuinely great advice for any diet, to make it work for you, but we never hear it. Really practical and form personal experience and not theory
