The first Ghost Rider was the Venom of it's time.
  • @Truck-kun11
Johnny Blaze and Carter Slade running together in the desert is still one of the coolest moments in any superhero movie.
  • The fact that Nicolas Cage was in this, yet said he doesn't need to be in the MCU in recognition just proves his power.
  • “No one is better at this kind of performance than Nicolas Cage. He's a fearless actor. He doesn't care if you think he goes over the top. If a film calls for it, he will crawl to the top hand over hand with bleeding fingernails."

Alright but like, that shot of Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider riding next to the cowboy Ghost Rider is probably the hardest image in any movie ever.
  • I loved the first Ghost Rider movie as a kid because the way he transforms for the first time. He was bursting into flames and screaming in horrific pain. It’s a guilty pleasure

I think Ghost Rider is in a similar position to Green Lantern as far as film adaptations go: Both characters started out small, but over the years so much lore and mythology was added that to cover all of that in 2 hours while trying to tell a coherent story seems impossible.

Being a kid in the mid to late 2000's was awesome. There was so many cool action figures. I had the entire fantastic four, x men, spiderman, ghost rider, and the 2003 TMNT show action figures with the truck. I was spoiled

Fun fact: the motorcycle in the first movie was actually a bike from Peter Fonda's (the guy who played Mephisto) personal collection, which is also why the bike was different in the second movie (they couldn't get Peter Fonda to come back and he wouldn't let them borrow the bike for the movie)
  • The first Ghost Rider has a special place in my heart regardless of its flaws. It at least feels like the writers understand how the characters work and I think its overall enjoyable as a pure dumb fun movie. The second one was a fever dream though lol. I literally felt I was drunk throughout that entire film.

Spirit of Vengeance is not only the second time I've seen Nicolas Cage play Ghost Rider, it's also the second time I've seen Nicolas Cage in a movie directed by Brian Taylor.

My brother and I actually read the original script before this movie came out. It was weird, but weird in the best way possible. Scarecrow (MARVEL version) was the original primary antagonist, and Ghost Rider was way more difficult to control. There was even a point where Johnny Blaze and the Rider had to take control of the body in an almost split way wherein the human form could still be seen under all the flames. Scarecrow was a horror giant through and through by the end, even putting his eye into a door to peer through a church. That script stuck so hard with me and my brother that we thought this film would do that justice. And we thought wrong. Most of the coolest parts were cut. And we got Spirit of Vengeance.
  • One thing I just picked up from the first film is when nick cage johnny does his first jump, he thinks about signing the contract and that makes him more careless about making the jump causing him to crash. But his second jump, he thinks about Roxy and how he has a second chance to fix what happened with them 2,which then drives him to make the jump. Lots of heart in ghost rider 1, gotta love it

In the 2nd GR film where Cage is interrogating a bad guy whilst turning into Ghost Rider, the actor playing the bad guy is trying not to laugh! XD
  • @chase9573
Gotta admit, as a kid, those posters petrayed a completely higher level of awesomeness compared to the film itself.
  • @SpaceRider15
If ghost rider came out today everybody would quote “scraping at the door”
  • I do hope that if the MCU actually does Mephisto, they'll really commit to his ties with certain characters (Doom and ofc Ghost Rider)
  • 5 days from now they’re going to announce Ghost Riders return just like Punisher 😂
  • Kinda funny that the 1st Ghost Rider movie plus Ultimate Alliance 1 was the main reason I loved Ghost Rider and became my 2nd Favorite Marvel Character
  • Even if the second one is...well...what it is, I just love how they represented the Rider as, you know, an actual evil spirit possessing someone, it's very fitting the tone of the movie where one of Johnny's goal is to get exorcised from the Rider's spirit
