Great story time! Fellow coder here, CPC & CRC I took a course with the CODE master coach for my CPC. She was the person who made me realize I didn't know my guidelines. I can still hear her voice in my head, LOL If anyone is interested, I'd recommend AMCI coding institute. They break down their guidelines, unlike anyone else on this planet! No BS! You will pass on the 1st attempt. I passed on my first attempt😊 Happy Coding!

This came right on time. Im 47 and have 15 years of direct patient care. I want to do coding because it will get me in the door for administration. I dont test well. But im praying this will work for me. Especially since i want to be certified and start my own agency.

I'm taking medical billing and coding online now. It's self paced yet challenging. I've worked in Healthcare as a cna for 4 years now. Currently a pct in the hospital. Im excited for a new adventure
  • I’m thinking about going for my coding certification. This information is very helpful. I’m not trying to become a coder but the Certification will help me advance in Revenue Cycle. Thank you for the self study info.

Wow! This was an amazing video. I went to school for Medical Billing and coding at a local junior college. I started out in ambulance coding when you didn’t have to be certified. Once they changed it I went into Posting Cash and loved it. I have been in healthcare for over 30 years in Revenue Cycle and now I realize that I love numbers so I wished I had gone and got my certification in coding. After watching your video I am really thinking about going for it. Thanks for sharing
  • I took a certificate program for medical coding and billing a long time ago. For the final exam you had to take the test to get certified which I did and passed. Upon passing I thought I was certified but come to find out, the school lied and it wasn't true. Frustrated, I did not schedule the test to get certified because I didnt want to sit through that test again (which I should have). I went on to get my BA in Health Administration but I always wish I would have got my certification. I'm now currently working in technology as a Product Owner and Business Analyst but part of me question if I should go back to get certified in medical coding and billing because I'm an introvert and love doing work where I don't have to speak to many ppl. Thanks for making this video, it's inspiring!

Thank you so much for sharing such practical tips! As an older learner, I am always looking for new things to learn online.
  • Thank you very much for this in-depth and encouraging video on medical coding. I’ve like, shared, subscribed, sent a prayer on your behalf and others to find your video. Thank you again. I need to transition work and about to be 52 years young. With a full time job work from home job, family and limited funds right now this encouraged me to use the time I have and just give it my all in self study. ❤

Thank you for this information. I work in pre authorization and deal with ICD10 and cpt codes and always wanted to learn more about coding. I’m so glad I found your channel the information is very helpful and I’m gonna try to get my certification.

I really enjoyed this video very encouraging what's so funny is data entry is what I've always been interested in getting into first yeah thank you for this video❤😊
  • The way compliance is set up now, I would not recommend taking courses or classes on your own unless you have absolutely nothing else going on in life or you have an awesome support system. Knowing the guidelines, modifiers and add on codes is must. This is not an easy field of study and it is accompanied by many grey area's in which an auditor will try to mow you down with what they consider perfection according to their own sense of perfection/ specifity pertaining to ICD 10 codes. Make sure you understand medical terminology, pathophysiology, and the meaning of medical necessity.
  • Thanks for sharing. This was very informative and detailed. You’ve inspired me to look into medical coding. I already have a BA in biological sciences and I’m currently a lab tech but I think I want a remote job instead of a lab job. If can get certified in something else with just self study instead of spending many more thousands of dollars on college I’m interested.
