Would be great if you could buy access to old expeditions. Like 10k Quicksilver would be a good price for an expedition expensive but that makes it even more rewarding.

8:13 - what's more, these Autophage Camps can give you (what appears to be) unlimited links to Sentinel Starships. Pop a Save Beacon down at the Camp (so that you can easily find it again), search for Dissonance Spikes, get the ship, then return to the Camp and repeat the process. Not only is this a good way to make money, since Sentinel Ships are worth anywhere from around 16 to 60 million credits when scrapped, but if you find one you really like and it's only a C or B Class, just keep trying until you get an A or even S Class.

Good video. The method I use is loading up on Navigation Data and buying a bunch of Distress Charts and using a simple trick to only spawn crashed ships with no NPCs that I can fix up. Start off on a planet you don't want to search on, we'll call it Planet A - and start using your distress charts. IIRC there are 5 possibilities - * Abandoned Building * Crashed Freighter * Observatory * Crashed Ship (no NPC) * Crashed Ship (with NPC) Each time you use a Distress Chart it will pick one at random and attempt to spawn it. If the one it chooses is already spawned with a marker up, then the attempt to use the chart will fail. Just keep trying to use the charts until you spawn markers for each possibility that you DON'T want, so keep trying until you spawn a marker for everything except a Crashed Ship (no NPC). The markers will be the same for Crashed Ships (with NPC) so do a slow fly over and check if anyone is alive and walking around near the ship. If you see an NPC, don't land, just fly away and leave the marker up. If it's abandoned, then land and check the ship and clear the marker. Once that's done, head to a different planet - Planet B. Planet A should have markers for everything except Crashed Ship with no NPC around. Now spam your remaining Distress Charts until they pop a Distress Signal on your current planet. You will fail to use it a bunch of times in a row, that's fine just keep trying until it works, and once it succeeds its a 100% chance of a Crashed Ship with no NPC every time, and it will be the only distress signal on your current planet as the other one will be on Planet A, so no confusion. Just jump from abandoned ship to abandoned ship until you find the one you're looking for. BONUS TIP - Build a base near Ancient Data Structures. They yield a bunch of Navigation Data and they respawn often. It's like having Nav Data fruits trees in your backyard, just pluck them anytime you need some, and you'll never run out.

Aa I've gotten back into No Mans Sky, I got burned by it when it first came out and barely worked. I just started playing again and find it very therapeutic since the game basically covers everything i love doing in games. My hats off to you sir, thank you for making so many great videos, as a fellow content creator i know how it can be. You've earned my sub dude
  • You've failed to mention that you can exploit the nav data method by buying a bunch of them. There's only so many distress signals that you can find. When you've found all of them - Fly to the crashed ship one. If its a crashed freighter, just move away. If it's an NPC, move away. If its a crashed ship with no NPC, claim it. And use a nav data again. The next spawn will always be another crashed ship as all other types have already been discovered.

A very good video, with surprisingly accurate and concise information, up to 99% of other you tube videos on the subject of ship hunting haven't got a clue and give incorrect information. My only criticism, would be no real info regarding exotic ships, and how they differ from regular ships, that they do not conform to the regular S Class ships rules of spawning and that they have a less than 1% chance in any charted system, as a lot of info I see on youtube regarding this is, just a myth or incorrect. Apart from this very minor criticism, a very well done video.

When looking for fighters, I find a trade outpost as you described, drop a save beacon, save a restore point and wait for the first wave to complete. Usually 5 ships. Then reload. It can take some time, but you will eventually see everything the system has to offer.
  • @ShaighJosephson
FYI... I found that the ship customizer can't duplicate alot of color schemes found in the wild, so ship hunting is not dead yet...but looks like HG intends to add the paint styles to cover everything in the future... 💥
  • @FlubLolol
Thanks, I was trying to get a sentinal ship in custom, this helped me too much, my collection is all s class, you deserve a million likes. ❤

Optimizing your map usage may sway your opinion of them. When you first start searching a planet spam your maps until you have two distress beacons, a crashed freighter, and I believe there are two more that show up. Fly to the first distress beacon and do a fly by. If there is an NPC at the crash site keep going without landing Fly to the other distress beacon with the claimable crashed ship. After you claim the ship every other map you use on that planet will be a claimable crashed ship as long as you don't interact with the other sites. The maps will never spawn multiples of the same type of site. This same technique can be used with other maps such as searching for multi tools. Also since the solar ships were added a lot of systems that you see solar ships in won't have exotic ships. The solar ships replaced existing ship models in the system, and it seems like often it was the exotics that got the axe.

Now theres the other way, finding the crash ships and salvage them for the customization parts so you can build your perfect ship! you will still need to hunt the perfect parts you want but at least is a new way of hunting your dream ship hehe
  • @B-A-L
I wish they would just add a ship trader at the space station or a shipyard where you could either buy whatever ships are relevant to the region or change parts on your existing ships. A custom ship building menu would be even better! At the very least there needs to be a proper ship management screen where you can clearly view what ships you own and what systems are installed and switched between them at will.
  • @aesieaiyahcloe
The Peeps I know said is to use a signal booster in an airless planet. Coz the buildings are distress beacons and crashed freighters. You need to check different regions of the planet coz it sometimes doesn't find any building in some spots.
  • @tano0oj
I like using the minotaur's scanner to find crashed ships. Apart from having to switch between the minotaur and my ship, it's a pretty convenient method
  • @DR0NE_BEE
"fairking way" 😂 im gonna use that 💪🏻
  • @mainomai
My game glitched out, and now my Starborn Runner is a sentinel ship. It still has the same class, slots and most equipment, but all the drives and shield have changed to sentinel gear.
