The name Harpers Ferry came up quite a lot when I was reading about the civil war. It's fun to see it here on youtube. Thanks!

Every weekend starts with coffee and watching Traveling Roberts episode.. My daughter loves the song Traveling in my RV and Driving to the West.. Excited to see Silverado.. Wishes from India..
  • This is my favorite place in the world to visit and take a drive to on a nice Sunday from Arlington, Virginia. Been there so many times I have lost count. Such a beautiful, historical little town, especially gorgeous during the Fall months. Years ago, they had ladies walking around in hoop skirts, soldiers dressed in Civil War uniforms, a Civil War wax museum, several antique shops, a glass blowing shop, an ironworks demonstration. I think Covid may have changed a lot of little things in the town, have not been there for about five years, but it is still a wonderful place.
  • The Vistas and Views, there are more than a few, Wow ! 🤓👌
  • Thank you for showing harpers fairy. I have never seen it before. It is so picturesque..those streets are so narrow feels more like Europe or something.
  • I was just at Harper's Ferry at the KOA just outside the park. We plan on going back and kayaking the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. Nice job on the video.

I really love that you get video of things that are not easily found on the internet already. Meaning, we can Google museums and such but we can't always Google a scenic walk or drive. I really appreciate the original content!

A little RR logistics and history...the first train was a coal train on the original B&O mainline from Baltimore to the Ohio River. The second train was a lucky break for you, as the trail bridge is on a branch line that doesn't see much train traffic at all. Then you caught an intermodal likely headed for Pittsburgh and Chicago from your table at the Rabbit Hole. Love Harpers Ferry!
  • Hola, Roberto…! I LOVE YOUR enthusiasm for America’s’ history!! To me, it’s EPIC…. YOUR travels become MINE. “PASA burn dia, Roberto!!” 😃😃👍🏼👍🏼👣
  • Robert is the undisputed champ of travel videos. Every time I travel I check his videos for tips and ideas. One of my favorite is the trip to Montreal which is a true classic. I'm definitely a fan.
  • What a lovely place Harpers Ferry - the hills , the churches and the little museums . A great beginning to Lewis and Clark trail. Also what a breathtaking view of the confluence of Shenandoah and Potomac rivers. Cannot wait to watch the whole series .

Another great episode! Hiking, small towns, scenic views and history lessons all in one. As a native West Virginian, I've yet to visit Harpers Ferry. I've passed near there several times but never with time enough to stop and explore the town. Per the Hiking Project app, The Maryland Heights trail is 6.8 miles, nearly 1500ft of elevation gain. Great job but looks worth it from the view. Note Amtrak stops at Harpers Ferry, I believe along the Capital Limited. I've read up on the C&O Canal trail, from DC to Cumberland (another cool town to explore). From there, a trail can take you to Pittsburgh! EDIT:PS: I have driven the entire Skyline Drive, just a few years ago. About 30 years ago I did it and some of the hiking trails along the way.

You sure did a lot of uphill in this video. Will get you in shape and me fatter in no time! Thanks for your video!
  • Wow! That was awesome! Very neat little town in WV. I think the Amtrak also runs through there. Views from the trail were excellent! Thank you!
  • @pattyk8594
The nice thing about the confluence, in addition to the view, is you are standing in West Virginia and across the water to your left is Maryland and to your right is Virginia, so you can see all three states.
  • @KristoferOlsson
Lots of history in this place, Loved the episode. The hike had amazing views at the top.
