I think what makes this song resonate with people is the fact that singers today rarely make work that reflects the parts of themselves they may be ashamed of. Because we have all burned bridges that we wished we hadn't, and we had all been the ones to push first when we promised we never would be. But seeing a young woman articulate it so well in a medium we can all appreciate is beautiful to me. Great work, Taylor!
