One of the main things I hope this video illustrates is that Liam is a victim. The exposure to drugs while he was developing caused his brain to become malformed. As a result, he now struggles with anger and impulse control. Children with ODD are often labeled as "bad" children, but it is much more complex than that. Also, I just want to point out that it is entirely possible for a child to be diagnosed with ODD without exposure to drugs in utero.

Little bro speaks more articulately than half of the people my age.
-
He’s a smart kid and somebody is telling him otherwise
-
the way he said”blipity blipity blipity”then said “no offence”was just SMOOTH
-
bro this dude seems like such a vibe, i'd hang out with him any time
-
“It takes a village to raise a child, but when you have a child like Liam, the village flees” that hit hard.

Can we take a moment to appreciate the mom— she is solid as a rock.
-
“If I could find friends, they wouldn’t be like me.” genuinely the saddest yet most insightful thing i’ve heard

Can't believe Larry didn't get interviewed

Liam's self-awareness and intelligence are remarkable for his age. I hope the ODD can be managed so his other talents can shine.

I'd be so interested to see a follow-up interview with Liam in like 10 years.
-
hes gonna be a comedic genius on social media in 10 years

as a person who got diagnosed with ADHD as a little kid, I can understand how frustating it can be to be aware of your own disorder and how differently your brain works from anybody else's, and not be able to change that. Sending all positive vibes to this kid.

Considering all the drugs his mom took while pregnant, he is doing great. I'm surprised he made it out.

To Liam's mum - I don't know if you realise, you are his rock, you are his Larry. Much love from a mother with a son that is just like Liam.
-
I really hope that this mom has some sort of system for herself. A support group of parents that also have children with ODD might be comforting because they are dealing with the same things. Other parents that won't say she's a bad mom or not strict enough. Instead of judging they'll support her. She's doing her best to support her son and help him in any way she can. She also deserves support and understanding.

Mom is exhausted and most likely feel completely alone in the world as a mom. She is not alone, lots of us moms out here know exactly where she is and how she feels. Step back and breathe!

"It takes a village to raise a child, but when you have a child like Liam, the village flees." This might be the most heartbreaking part of it all. Liam's mom, you are a superhero. He is so lucky to have you. I think one day he will finally be able to see that.
-
You can see Liam's frustration at how different his brain is immediately. He's such an intelligent, articulate, sharp kid and is extremely good at telling us (as much as a kid can) how rough it is to butt up against his neurological hard limits. It's super telling how good he is at self-advocacy at such a young age. Poor kid is trying so damn hard and his biomom set him up to fail.

I just hope that there’s someone out there taking care of this wonderful mom as much as she takes care of her wonderful son
