Might wanna try deeper water for that Ganion style fishing. lizard fish and guitarfish indicate too shallow. 70 fathoms plus will likely give you a better return.

I used to snapper and commercial fish in the open gulf of mexico on a 65 foot bonner hull boat. I am quite familiar with the use of a deck reel and big spool hydraulic reels for tuna and sword fish. Personally i am glad that that chapter of my life is over. I enjoyed coastal net,and purse seine net fishing more than the off shore misery of intense long line fishing.

That is a lot of work for one guy, you need deck hand on the long line. Good lot for bait. 👍🏻

I have a suggestion - Wipers on the camera !! if someone at home was cooking dinner and came back to the video to see 20:00 in they'be be trying to clean their monitor you need Wipers on the camera !!
  • Nice boat set up! Your longline hauler is 12 volt? Can I ask what manufacturer and model as I would be interested in getting one for my Aquafish. Do you ever push up to the banks south of Alderney, there’s a few Tubbies there.
  • Can you survive money wise with just catching doggies ? I'm a new subscriber 🎉🎉🎉

What bait did you use? Did the doggies go for Pot Bait? Or Rock Salmon?

One mans trash is another mans treasure. We used to throw dog fish away as trash. Do you loose alot of gear to shark molestation.
  • Seems like an awful lot of work for a couple dozen "doggies!" What are they worth? $3 or $4 a piece? Does it qualify as an expensive hobby?
