The Coquihalla Highway is home to Canada’s highest speed limit: 120km/h (75mph).
From Wikipedia:
Between Hope and Kamloops, Highway 5 is known as the Coquihalla Highway (colloquially "the Coq", pronounced "coke"). It is a 186-kilometre-long (116 mi) freeway, varying between four and six lanes with a speed limit of 120 km/h (75 mph) for most of its length. The Coquihalla approximately traces through the Cascade Mountains the route of the former Kettle Valley Railway, which existed between 1912 and 1958. It is so named because near Hope, it generally follows the Coquihalla River, for about 60 km (37 mi), and uses the Coquihalla Pass.

I just drove that route (well to Merritt to get to Kelowna) and I’m still in awe over the drive just to Merritt. But also how steep some of those climbs are. Gave my car a good work out

Drove most of that road (YVR to Hope, up the Coq, along to meritt, then turn right to Kelowna / Penticton ) last autumn visiting my (aussie backpacker) daughter. Major engineering effort, and I felt was symbolic of Canadian stoic determination….. “aww sure we built a road that will be hell in winter, but we got tow trucks, ay …”!!
