Horse pack trip into the Flat Tops Wilderness of Colorado by two men from the Sweetwater Lake Trailhead. This was a wilderness adventure using horses and mules to travel some 80 miles into and out of the Flat Tops wilderness of northwestern Colorado.

    great ride in the Flat Tops. I never went in the trail head. I will try it next summer

    My wife and I stayed a Sweetwater Lodge and took the horse trip over to the pictographs. They told us that they did 3 day camping trips horseback to the Flat Tops. They called them Ute Flat Tops. We had lunch on the veranda there and I touched a Hummingbird while I sitting at the table. We were there in July and they said there was snow a week earlier and still snow in spots. I caught a trout in the lake. Beautiful spot.
