“Let’s love even our hidden sadness” wow just wow😭
-
kidult feels like a love letter to your younger self. these times, when you hit your 18-20's, people automatically brand you as an adult even though some of us arent even ready to be responsible yet-- we're too young to be a funtioning adult, and too old to be treated as a kid. burden and responsibilities are already passed to us even though we're not ready yet, bc we havent even experienced much of life so we're not sure if every decisions we make is the right thing to do or not. we're literally moving in trial and error, constantly checking and checking if we fucked up something precious in our life. in essence, this song is telling us that it's okay to both be a kid and an adult at the same time. we can cry when we feel sad, or be mature about situations and hide our hearts from our sleeves - both are okay, because we're humans and it's okay to fuck up things sometimes bc that's how we learn and we grow. it's telling us to stop hiding our real self, and for the kid inside our hearts to stay forever with us. basically, kidult good seventeen best boys

DK just slayed it
-
WORLD: You're a grown up !!! Why are you so sensitive ??? SEVENTEEN: Just cry all your problems. It's okay. You're still precious.

this song tells me that.. being an adult is hard. you will have to face a lot of things and struggles that you've never expected before. when you're entering an adulthood, everything will be much harder for you. the people around you or maybe even, you, yourself, would put so much pressure on yourself to act like what an adult expected to, there's an expectation that you need to do everything what you have to do at a certain age, to accomplish what you've been dreaming of, and face struggles that we've never taught back then when we were a kid. but.. there will always be a kid inside of you, and sometimes, unconsciously, you act like a kid too, who wants to always be happy, to laugh as loud as you want to, to do whatever you want, to express your emotions without hiding it, just like a kid. this song reminds me that it's okay, let's embrace that kid-like trait that you have inside of you, don't hide them, that kid is part of you. live your life with them. ❤️🩹 another edit: i changed my original comment. coming back to this again, reading the lyrics again and again, and now i'm older and an adult now, my understanding of the song is different. it's fascinating how your feelings, your surroundings, your mental health condition can really affect your view on something. that's why i changed it. and i always read the replies under this comment. and i still want to say, please, stay strong, there are things that are waiting for you in the future. and like what i said years ago, i hope this song can be a healing and a comfort to you when no one can understand your feeling or when you feel exhausted. you are precious, and like what our boys said, you are loved and they always wish that you guys are happy. stay safe and stay healthy! 💖💙

They said "It's just a song It will not make you cry" THE SONG:
-
“after i have laughed it off like an adult, even when i cry like a kid” those lyrics actually slapped me hard lol
-
I also think one of the reasons why the lyrics is really good is bec. when cheol wrote this, he was in hiatus and writing this was his way to express his feelings. It must've been hard for him but he made this song so well. Aside from the heavenly vocals, the lyrics should be praised. Seungcheol being the main writer of Kidult is amazing. Thank you to the other members who organized the lyrics with him.
-
let's appreciate jun's line in kidult, both the meaning and the voice
-
You know i really like svt, becasue they say "it's okay to sad sometimes" instead "always be happy". Life isn't all about happiness, we're human after all. We could feel sadness and lose hope sometimes too. But svt in here song say, it's okay. They say it's okay to cry like a kid 😭😭😭

I remembered on 17 project days, DK doesn't get enough compliments from the judges. But now, he's hitting high notes without difficulty. I'm so proud of my boy! Seokmin deserves everything!
-
Idk why people think this song is about missing being a kid, its not its about embracing the youth that once had, what you learned from it and live with it , living like and adult and feeling like a kid, work hard like and adult and rest like a kid. Its about understanding that being an adult doesn't take away that you are a person who deserves love, healing and support. You never are too old to feel, being an adult is understanding that there is and will always be a kid inside you that needs to be protected and loved, a kid that will cry when life is hard because you are all humans with emotions

I literally can't choose my favorite song in this album. Every song is so beautiful 🥺

-
This is my comfort song. Dokyeom's lines really hit different. Scoups should write more songs.
-
DK's voice really touched me in this, it's so beautiful. Love this song.
-
scoups singing and not rapping in this song makes me happy for hearing his soft voice <3
-
DK's vocal here. So emotionally powerful yet precisely controlled. It's so different.
