That Baneblade is just the thing for getting you within sword striking range of the enemy.
  • Every single video that you guys upload I get so happy and excited!!! Legit my favorite part of watching YouTube. Is when you guys release a video!!!!! Keep up the fantastic work!!!!!!!
  • @NeonFlaming0
Every one of these lore dive paint videos crushes it. And you and Jen are great in screen. Thanks for video Dave!! Much appreciated!

As a small correction to the release history at 14:20 . The plastic Baneblade was first released only with the Baneblade and Hellhammer configuration (I had bought that kit twice during 5. Edition 40k). The "turretless" variants were released as a second kit later (2009 if I'm correct). The Rebox with all variants, das was shown in the video was maybe 2019.

6:20 when i got my hands on this issue (which i still have to this day) i got soo excited about the way those Ork and Imperial vehicles looked that i made my own 28mm versions using card stock and plastics. i still have them too. The Ork Battlewagon is a skirmish board in and of itself and great fun to roll onto the table :D

That color scheme is so cool! And thanks for bringing out the small one. Realising what the scale actually is, is hard on camera without reference! (And YEAH! for using company material and time for painting a birthday present)

That metal painting technique is incredible! Also, I am immensely curious as to what kind of situation the Alpha Legion would deploy a super heavy tank. And how? Pretty sure if they reveal this tank you are already seven different kinds of defeated. Really enjoyed the video, great job!
  • For future reference, Forge World has been more than accomodating sorting out spare parts for me even when I wasn't the purchaser. Usually the batch number on the actual box/bag and pictures of what you've got are enough for them to approve this sort of thing. I expect those parts were broken after the parts were checked from the weight of the other chunks of resin being jostled around in transit. I've had similar issues which are very frustrating.
  • @Mr_Waffle.
Great video, love the painting! And thank you for putting me off buying from Forgeworld while I'm still a novice to this hobby, such expensive kits with such big production issues would probably make me cry lol

Man, that thing looks AMAZING! Great work and a sweet, sweet paint job! However, I must say, the more I see of the Forgeworld models on Youtube, the more I am appalled by the quality of the kits. Every single one I've come across on youtube had major issues with warping (which, ok, is an integral part of resin, I know, I've been printing resin models for quite a while now), broken or downright missing pieces. I really feel that for that price, we should expect a lot more in terms of quality control.
  • I built one of the original Baneblades from the instructions and templates in White Dwarf 132. The instructions were a bit dodgy and some of the templates were wrong but the finished tank is still pretty good.
  • @jemeredith
The plastic kit released in the late 2000s only built the Baneblade. The box you showed and the options came out a few years later

Would be amazing to see some early edition (chaos) space marines painted up for your alpha legion! Could be a good time to explore their history
  • I care more about the history of the model, than the actual painting. But it's the combination that makes the video so nice to watch with a big cup of tea.
  • @samsolopeeps
You are smashing the awesome content out at the moment! Hope you have a nice Christmas off!
  • @PraetorGix
These hobby+history videos are my favorites from the channel, you manage to make them very informative without being boring. I hope the series continues for a long time!
  • @Ushatkaa
this is so cool, I love learning and exploring further into the hobby. A little thing that i've noticed tho, is that he first describes the tank as an Emperor's Children tank, but later moved on to calling it an Alpha Legion tank. Or perhaps this was just the Alpha Legion purposefully trying to confuse me. Who knows.
  • @Ciretwo
G.D. those non metallic paint job areas are just beautiful
